Description
Step inside another world at Beckside Barn. A clever barn conversion enhanced all the more by tasteful application of colour, fabrics and prints, and a well travelled influence. Look around and you’ll spot furniture and decor from the owner’s own travels around the world in the shape of a light fitting, a still of mirror an ornateness of carving. This is a one-of-a-kind holiday home inside and out.
There’s a charm about the place that renders it home almost instantly. The floor to ceiling windows of the sitting room and lounge draw your eye to world outside, while the double height of the lounge with its mezzanine simply adds to the sense of space. The snug calls you for a moment of repose alongside the bookshelf with its many tantalising titles or the challenge of a family board game for later. Relax and switch off at Beckside Barn. The mobile phone signal is variable, the coffee machine is top notch and the surrounding countryside is divine.
The barn’s confluence of cultures parallels perfectly with its multi-county access. On the doorstep of Lancashire, Cumbria and the Yorkshire Dales, you are spoilt for choice of landscapes, activities and local dialects. This glorious part of Northern England incorporates the valleys of Eden and Mallerstang, one of England’s oldest market towns at nearby Kirkby Stephen, King Arthur connections at Pendragon Castle and the Carlise Settle Railway. Walkers will delight in Alfred Wainwright’s Coast to Coast Walk as its takes in the Northern Viaducts Round nearby.
Bedrooms and bathrooms
From the galleried landing with its pitched ceiling on the first floor, your led to three individually beautiful bedrooms. The master suite continues the well-travelled theme most significantly with its striking carved wardrobe and feature lighting. You’ll sink into the sinfully comfortable bed and sleep well after a massaging refresh under the rainfall shower in the en suite. The second bedroom is a spacious double looking up into the night sky for stargazing fans. The third bedroom provides twin beds and in the family bathroom you’ll find yourselves fighting for a soak in the oversize bath.
Practicalities
Please note there is a low stone wall leading to a beck at the rear of the property. There is a brook behind a stone wall to the rear of the property and a pond in the garden therefore children must be supervised.
