Description
One of a kind Dorset holiday home for 8 guests where family and friends can relax and play. Beautiful market town location with the wonders of West Dorset awaiting your exploring boots.
Bridport bounty
West Mill is an exceptional example of a one of a kind conversion. A truly transformational refurbishment has restored Bridport’s former West Mill into an exquisite Dorset holiday home. A stunningly sympathetic conversion has ensured that the building’s former functional life is celebrated in its new presentation - can you work out what each of the exposed and retained features once was?
A fascinating home for anyone, especially those with curious kids in tow, imagine making yourselves at home on squishy sofas, on the beanbags in the den, tucked up in comfortable beds while in awe of restored wooden floors and exposed industrial elements. The greatest joy is the space it provides, including three fabulous reception rooms including a library, living room and TV/games room as well as a few quiet spots for moments of relaxation and reading.
The exterior is a sight to behold. The kitchen diner perfectly combines original features with contemporary industrial touches and a stunning butcher’s block cum island. Flashes of modern touches are provided in colour pops of artwork and furniture while cleverly allowing the history of the building to sing. The bedrooms ache with space - you’ll question if you’re actually on holiday at all.
Not all features of the conversion are suitable for small children, so we welcome babies (pre-crawling) and then over 5s.
From your doorstep, you’re in the heart of the market town of Bridport. A popular filming location for TV and film producers alike it is brimming with the character of its own history and the fabulous mix of independent eateries and shops. We love the twice-weekly market for the freshest of produce to take back to that very cool kitchen!
Outside, a seating area is reached via the kitchen and leads to a lawn and millpond. A wander coastwards will lead you to beautiful West Bay, Dorset’s UNESCO protected Jurassic coastline and the landscapes that featured in Far From The Madding Crowd.
Bedrooms and bathrooms
There are four fabulous bedrooms including two very spacious king-size bedrooms, one of which also enjoys an en suite shower room. Then two smaller yet perfectly presented twin rooms, one of which has an en suite. The family bathroom has a bath with shower over.
Please note: No parking at the property, you are able to unload at the front and then park in metered car parks nearby.
