Overview

Previously forming part of St. Marks Primary School, this substantial Victorian building dating back to 1855 was recently converted as part of a prestigious development along with 3 other cottages.

Finished to a very high standard throughout, this stunning and spacious property has been sympathetically transformed incorporating contemporary modern design alongside original features including vaulted high ceiling and stunning tall windows.

The Old School House lies in a Conservation Area in one of the oldest parts of Swanage and is approximately one mile from the town centre; a traditional and charming seaside resort with lovely Victorian pier and sandy beach.

Bell Street is a quiet road with a village feel. From the top of the road you can access miles of beautiful countryside including the South West Coastal Path which follows the iconic Jurassic Coast. Turn left out of the house and within a couple of minutes’ walk you have the benefit of a pub, restaurants and convenience stores.

Enter through the original and substantial front door and into a large porch area with flagstone floor and plenty of space for boots and coats.

There’s plenty of space to relax in the large and sumptuous open plan galleried living area. The vaulted ceiling with beams, dual aspect tall windows create a light and spacious room. The well-equipped kitchen with every amenity needed for a get away break sits at the rear of the room overlooking the church next door.

Downstairs there’s also a large shower room and separate utility room with washer/dryer, with sumptuous robes for guests use.

A spiral staircase leads to a quirky mezzanine level that overlooks the living room. Upstairs is the double bedroom with vaulted ceiling, beams and tall window looking towards the church. The beautifully furnished en-suite bathroom allows you to relax in a bath of bubbles in style.

An enclosed, sunny rear garden has been thoughtfully presented with a sun deck complete with loungers, fire pit with BBQ grill, flower bed and pretty potted plants. Limestone flagstones throughout makes it a useable space all year round.

There’s also the added bonus of an allocated off-road parking space leading from the garden.
