Description
Step back in time, in perfect luxury at this historic converted mill near the Norfolk Broads. Live the high-life in this airy, spacious, four-storey apartment with panoramic views across the countryside.
High life
Feel at home in history within the magnificent conversion of Ebrige Mill. This fine 1800s building hasn’t forgotten its roots - original cast iron mill machinery adorns the ceilings, exposed beams and vaulted ceilings celebrated its industrial past.
There’s a film set feel to the place too, with theatre lights, exposed brick walls, and glamorous leather sofas. A solid table for ten expects you to gather en masse and celebrate! When you’re looking for quiet time, retreat to the balcony and the table with a view, made just for two. Set yourself up for a day away out here, listening to the birdsong with your morning coffee.
You’ll be bewitched by the canal, which meanders out to the horizon in the kind of countryside that can only be called ‘old fashioned’. That is, undeveloped, nature-rich, and utterly relaxing. Views from on high overlook the canal, water meadows and the mill pond which is stocked with pike, tench and bream. Fish to your heart’s content, or spot otters and kingfishers from the balcony. Fishing by licence is allowed, so why not catch your supper!
Wooden steps down to the landing stage invite you to launch by kayak or rowing boat, to explore the canal and give you a whole new perspective on this magical place. Once you’ve enjoyed your time on the water, the woods are right on your doorstep, so bring your pooch! Don’t forget your binoculars; you’ll develop a love of wildlife if you aren’t already a nature lover.
Perfectly placed Ebridge Mill is close to the charming Norfolk Broads and the lively market town of North Walsham. For beach days, head to Happisburgh with its iconic red and white striped lighthouse, or family friendly Mundesley. For history days, the National Trust’s Blickling Hall, former home of Anne Boleyn, is nearby.
A sign urges visitors to ‘tell a beautiful story’ and this is exactly the place you might pick up your pen, or add to your Insta feed, because you’ll find inspiration everywhere you turn.
Bedrooms and bathrooms
Vaulted ceilings in the bedrooms complete the airy feel of this entire holiday home, and you’ll be spoilt for a view, whichever room becomes yours. The long room for four children expects bed jumping joy. It’s here that memories will be made. Teenagers will want a room of their own, and there are two elegant singles to choose from. Spacious bathrooms invite you to prepare for the day, and later get ready to zone out.
