Relax and relish all those unique touches that make this a very special holiday: glorious vistas viewed from your tower, a deep hot tub and oh-so-comfy beds and sofas. You know you deserve it all.

Towering relaxation

It’s not often you get to stay in a tower. When you draw up outside the elegant stone façade of Tower Barn Cottage you immediately know you’ve arrived somewhere special. The traditional stone cottages have been perfectly restored to combine original features with all the mod cons you’d expect in holiday accommodation of this standard.

Yours is the central section and boasts the second-floor viewing gallery up in that tower. And these are some views – stretching far ahead of you are the sparkling waters of Castle Carrock Reservoir and the delights of one of England’s finest beauty spots, the Lake District. Miles and miles of glorious countryside lie beyond, for simple contemplation or to visit and explore.

Then there are those lovely original touches that sit so well beside the modern comfort. Your lofty sitting room comes complete with wooden beams, a cosy-creating wood stove and a vast sofa, perfect for kicking back and relaxing as you watch whatever you fancy on the 50” (yes, 50) TV. One lucky person gets the uber-comfy leather recliner.

Dining comes with those lovely views too – eat in comfort as you gaze at the rolling countryside beyond. Prepping and creating take little effort in the bright kitchen, elegant in cream cabinets and wooden countertops plus all the appliances you need. Even the washing up is no longer a chore as you rinse and look out to the fells. And then the surprise – step outside to your private garden in the sunshine along with your hot tub. Bubbles and warmth just waiting to offer you the ultimate relaxation on your holiday.

Venture outside and it’s all about that countryside – walk along the River Eden, nestling in a secret valley. Hike the fells. Fish the streams. Ride the bridleways. Cycle to Carlisle… And then back to your tower retreat.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

The three ground floor bedrooms provide the sleep of kings on deep mattresses and plump pillows. All have countryside views. The super king has an en suite shower room, and a large family bathroom completes the accommodation.
