Description

Even Lewis Carroll would have envied the wonderland that awaits you at Swallows Return. From the imposing wood clad barn to the stunning outdoor spaces and gardens, welcome to another world for a while.

Blissful abode

Swallows Return is one of a kind. A design eye has touched every element of what you see and experience when you stay here, all you have to do is relax. Wander through the Mediterranean garden at the front of the property and wonder when the olives will fall from the most majestic of trees. You’ll find welcome shade in this part of the garden on the hottest of days while the decking to the rear soaks up the sun and views over Romney Marsh, and leads to the vast garden and understated pond beyond, fenced for safety.

Inside, Swallows Return is a wondrous creation of rustic flooring, warm oak furniture and fabrics that ooze style and references to the flora, fauna and wildlife outdoors. Settle in the sitting room with its stylish Italian sofa and trunk of games. While away the hours to a soundtrack of your choosing through the Bose sound system or catch up on those Netflix episodes under a blanket. The contemporary touches in the dining room and kitchen will call all to dinner on time or for that first proper coffee of the day from the Nespresso machine. The doors open onto the decking and you may be drawn to stay a while. The setting is simply so impressive, with a tennis court you can ask to you use, could enthrall you all enough to stay home despite best laid plans.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

There are three bedrooms on the first floor of Swallows Returns while the shower room is located on the ground floor. The master bedroom has a gorgeous wooden king size bedstead and its own shower room. Turn the radio on and a hens egg breakfast in bed is called for. There is also a double bedroom and twin bedroom with beautiful and ample storage.

Practicalities

There is a fenced pond at this property and children should be supervised at all times.

Reviews

This cottage has everything you need for a perfect holiday. Facilities, location and a very high standard of cleanliness and comfort. Can't fault it.

Mrs M,

The cottage was very spacious and very comfortable. There was everything we needed and it was perfect for our family. We had a wonderful time there. The owners were very helpful when our car broke down, such a caring and wonderful people. We will certainly return hopefully when it's a bit warm so we can enjoy the massive beautiful garden and the tennis court. The white horse pub just a mile away serve an absolutely delicious meal specially the Sunday roast. The walk to the pub was very scenic. Thank you to the owners. Great people.

Mrs T,

Lovely house and amazing garden. Very quiet location, easy access to coast,NT properties etc. Possibly one of the best self catering properties we have stayed in

Mrs S,

Swallows Return was a fabulous place to stay for a week in the beautiful Kent countryside. The owners are wonderful hosts , who have created a wildlife haven , just 15 minutes from the coast. We had the most relaxing week in this wonderful, comfortable and well positioned property. The gardens are truly magical , a different view from each turn. We were lucky enough to be there during THE hot week in September, but I'd imagine that it looks stunning in every season.

Mrs H,

Had a lovely week at Swallows Return. The barn is in a peaceful location & we were able to relax & enjoy the peace & quiet of the Kent countryside. Ashford was less than 15 minutes drive & has everything you need including supermarket & gym (essential for me)! The owners were wonderful hosts & went out of their way to ensure our stay was comfortable. They welcomed us to share the 2 acres of beautiful garden so that we could walk our dog. The garden is full of fruit trees so we easily managed our 5-a-day. ‘Scrumping’ was actively encouraged. With the provisions provided on our arrival the owners left some homemade apple juice & upon leaving presented us with some Victoria plum jam. On ‘our’ star rating we’d rate the accommodation & hosts with their hospitality 5 out of 5

mr B,

Swallows Return is a great place. The cottage is spacious and well equipped, the outdoor area is nice and the garden is great. The owners checked up on us a few times to see if there was anything missing or if they could help us out in any way. Swallows Return is highly recommended. We have rented a few cottages over the years and Swallows return is among the best, if not the best, we have rented

Mr E,

What a beautiful place to stay. We felt at home straight away. You have everything we need. We weren't sure how we would feel being here without our amazing boy 'Reggie' who went for his forever sleep last week, but it has helped being in such peaceful, calm and relaxing surroundings. The kitchen has been easy to use and we have all enjoyed a great night's sleep in the comfy beds. The apple juice is delicious and it has been lovely to walk around the garden and sit outside with our morning coffee and tea. Today we had great fun playing tennis. We look forward to coming back sometime.

Mrs S,

Mrs S,

The property was wonderful - Warm in the snow and heavy frost outside, comfortable furniture and beds, well eqipped kitchen with integral dining area, dog-friendly. The garden was a joy. It was just perfect.
