Old English cottage charm and countryside serenity await at The Old Coach House. Elegantly combining all the glory of the Garden of England’s rural beauty and proximity to city and coast.
PLEASE NOTE THIS PROPERTY IS NOTE SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN UNDER 12.
There’s a charm offensive in our midst at The Old Coach House. From its serene and bucolic spot in the Kent countryside there’s more than a play on quintessential country cottage charm. Converted from stables in the grounds of the owner’s own house, this is a homely and charismatic holiday house. Welcoming two dogs, they’ll love the pretty cottage garden and its gate that leads beyond to wildflower meadows and many a walking trail. The gate happens to also lead to the village pub in this picturesque village of Nonington.
After exploring Nonington, hope in the car for a 15 minute saunter to historic Canterbury or an equally short meander to the beaches, or golf courses, at Sandwich and Deal. Before you know it you’ll have had a city break and beach holiday under the auspices of a rural retreat. At the end of the day when feet and paws are weary from wandering or rambling this beautiful corner of the country, it’s time to cosy up in the coach house with hot chocolates and a good book or movie.
The communal space centres around the striking feature fireplace and chimney between the sitting room with its comfy sofas and the dining room with its elegant dining table and chairs. The double doors, framed by striking and weighty drapes, open onto the garden. The modern kitchen is spacious enough for a family afternoon of baking or for rustling up a scrumptious Sunday roast. All you have to decide is whether to put the jam or the cream first on your scones.
Bedrooms and bathrooms
There are two beautiful and roomy bedrooms on the first floor that make a feature of their position up in the eaves of the former stables. Pretty wallpapers adorn the walls while ornate furnishings and metal bedsteads complete the country style theme of these two double bedrooms. Both bedrooms have use of a shower room with luxury rain shower.
The property is not suitable for children under 12 years old. One well behaved dog accepted by arrangement. Regret bookings cannot be taken for Sunday changeovers.

Clean, well appointed, and in quiet country spot as advertised. we really enjoyed our stay in your Old Coach House. I completely understand the popularity of the property and location, let alone the fabulous spacious bathroom, blissfully comfortable beds, delightful garden, and attention to detail throughout. Many thanks for your warm welcome, Mrs Diana Wilson - 19th April 2019

Clean, comfortable & well equipped.Mrs Sarah Burgess - 12th December 2018
It is a delightful cottage, well furnished and equipped to a high standard. We only spent three out of the seven days planned for our holiday because my son was taken ill and we had to return home. But the area is outstandingly beautiful and we did spend several hours in Canterbury Cathedral which we enjoyed very much. We also enjoyed lunch at the Griffin's Head which is quite close to the cottage and we highly recommend it. It was very sad to have to cut short our visit but maybe some time in the future we will be back again.Theo James - 1st September 2018

The owner was very pleasant and helpful and she provided a very good welcome pack. My wife and I took along our two dogs. In the cottage was lots of information regarding local walks. We tried many and they were all excellent. The property was a delight and we will certainly return.Mr D Anstey - 22nd February 2017
This property is managed with a lot of care and attention to detail. We visited in December/January so did not use the outside facilities, but there is a lovely garden to enjoy in the warmer months. Parking is very easy and private and the situation of the cottage is away from the road and very peaceful.Mr J Wright - 10th January 2017
