Description
Luxurious countryside living near the pretty village of Pluckley, The Nutshell is a quaint wood cabin carefully restored to an exceptional standard and is the perfect place for your romantic, rural retreat in the ‘Garden of England’, Kent.
Luxury cabin life
Tucked away near Dering Wood, the property is within a mile of two great pubs - one renowned for its seafood - and a lovely farm shop offering fresh local produce. For brave adventurers, the idyllic parish of Pluckley is famous for being one of the most haunted villages in England, while nature lovers can admire the enchanting countryside and apple orchards on their doorstep, or the golden sands of the Kent coast only 30 minutes away.
Approaching the property, you’ll immediately notice the beautiful, covered entrance-way and ‘loggia’ with plenty of cut logs to keep the wood burner lit on cooler days. Entering the cosy lodge, open-plan living spaces have been furnished with flair, from its natural wood floors to the workbench-style sideboards. The contemporary feel continues into the dining area where French doors flood the room with light. Rustle up evening meals for you and your loved one in the well-equipped kitchen, complete with gas cooker, dishwasher, fridge and microwave. And then snuggle in front of the woodburning stove and watch a movie on the smart TV for a relaxing evening together.
The courtyard has comfy garden furniture for dining at sunset, a charcoal barbecue to rustle up supper on summer nights, and undercover seating in the loggia so you can curl up with a book in the shade.
Bedrooms and bathrooms
The bedroom sleeps two and enjoys countryside views through its natural wood windows. Exposed wooden beams and light colour palettes immerse you in nature, while the large double bed will tempt you to enjoy long lie-ins together or to head to bed early after a day exploring the surrounding countryside. The bathroom has an invigorating rain shower, and a stunning, centrepiece copper roll top bath for long evening soaks.
