Description

Contemplate the last of the sun’s rays on the water beyond as you sip an evening’s little something from your deck or plush settee. The height of Lake District wonderment, all yours.

Lake viewing

Elevation brings all the advantages to Cherry Trees, a beautifully presented Edwardian house whose height means you all get to enjoy prime views of the iconic Lake Windermere and the equally famous Lake District fells. And you’ll enjoy them from wherever you are in this stunning holiday property because all the windows (yes, all) offer perfect vistas. Admire them from literally every corner. All three reception rooms look out towards that unique Lake District scenery. The difficult bit is choosing your serenely sumptuous spot – will it be on plush soft furnishings, elegant leather or al fresco style in the garden?

Or perhaps from one of the bedrooms, a couple of which have double and even triple aspect views? Or from your Juliet balcony as you watch the sunbeams dance on the fells and lake beyond? Or better still, join the others in the large garden as you all enjoy the sunset with a little something. Anyone for tennis, by the way?

Built as a gentleman’s residence, this Lake District holiday haven does elegance very well. This is a home where original features – think window seats, fireplaces and leaded lights – combine in perfect tandem with the mod cons all gentlemen and women expect. In this department, this list runs long but as a taster, think underfloor heating, a wine cooler, Xbox console…

But as well as offering a stay in stylish comfort, Cherry Trees is all about your surroundings. Bowness itself lies on your doorstep with its wide choice of shops and restaurants plus great Lake District walking. For some water fun or just to see your views up close, Windermere awaits a little distance away. And then there’s the village of Cartmel where you can have a flutter on the smallest race course in the UK, taste the delights of Simon Rogan’s culinary creativity at L’Enclume and discover a village shop that produces world famous sticky toffee pudding.

Guests can enjoy a complementary leisure pass at Pulse Leisure Club at castle green Hotel in the attractive market town of nearby Kendal  which includes swimming pool , steam room and gym and guests can benefit from half price green fees on Carus Green golf course if booked in advance.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

Cherry Trees sleeps 10 comfortably in five spacious bedrooms, all with lake views and TV. Two have en suite shower rooms and there’s a generously sized family bathroom with bath and walk-in shower.
