Perched on a hilltop overlooking the Dyfi Valley, this flawlessly romantic, self-catering getaway combines traditional Welsh charm with modern elegance. With cafes, pubs, and restaurants in the nearby village of LLanbrynmair, and within easy reach of the Glyndŵr's and Dyfi Valley Way trails, Bryn Aere Bach is sure to delight both country lovers and city folk alike. Further featuring exposed beam frames, underfloor heating, panoramic views, and outdoor seating, this cottage is the perfect place to relax after a fun-filled day of exploring.
Explore and escape
Known for its wild ruggedness, the area around Bryn Aere Bach attracts outdoor enthusiasts year-round to its hiking and mountain biking trails. And yet comfort is king in the cottage. The wood burner and cosy seating in the open-plan sitting room immediately set the mood. Two large windows not only make a mesmerising focal point of the view, they also allow the openness of the rooms to flourish with natural light. Separated from the sitting room/dining room by a breakfast bar, the kitchen is fully-equipped and begs for a nice glass of wine at sunset, with its shared vista over the valley. All of this, in addition to the lawn area and nature trail for children, makes Bryn Aere Bach the perfect Welsh getaway for families.
Bedrooms and bathrooms
Rustic tones create an idyllically serene atmosphere in Bryn Aere Bach’s two bedrooms. The king-size master bedroom on the ground floor benefits from cruck beam features and lots of natural light. Also on the ground floor is a shower room with WC accessible through the bedroom or through a passage off the sitting room.
Upstairs is a twin room, cosily tucked away under the eaves, and enjoying plenty of light and beautiful views thanks to its large window. There is a bathroom with WC on the first floor for guests staying in the twin room.
A barbecue and charcoal are also available. We can also provide an extra single ‘put-me-up’ bed, a high chair, changing mat, stair gate, mattress side barrier, and a travel cot, but ask that you please request these upon booking and bring your own cot bedding. The property has an EE Osprey limited internet connection (not suitable for streaming or gaming) and uses solar panels in order to reduce its carbon footprint.
Special Note: We are happy to offer a 10% discount for returning guests.

Fantastic views!Mrs Sandra Nattrass - 28th May 2019
Stayed at an exceptional property in Wales with incredible countryside and mountain views across the valley. Five stars in every sense! Stunning. Utterly brilliant stay. The accommodation exceeded all expectations and the owners were so lovely! We chatted most days. The nicest people you could meet. A perfect stay! Thank you. Very easy to book. The administration process was very slick: paperwork, booking and information received. Highly recommend Best of Wales. Debi from North Somerset - 7th November 2018
Stunning location, views and an ideal property to unwind and relax in, and owners are extremely friendly and helpful. Friendly and helpful service (from Best of Wales).Susan from North Somerset - 30th October 2018
We loved this property, it was everything we expected. The owners who lived next door were very nice and helpful. We loved the location which made it possible to visit several places in Wales and the views were breathtaking! The cottage was clean and comfortable and had everything needed for a perfect holiday. We liked that it had two bedrooms and two baths and that one bedroom was on the main floor. We sat outside with a drink one evening even though it was chilly because it was so beautiful.Margaret from Illinois - 19th October 2018
Beautiful holiday setting. Perfect place to recharge your batteries. Owners really lovely, very welcoming and pleasant. Really helpful during power cut during the heavy winds and rain. Highly recommendable. Ray from Dorset - 19th October 2018

Simply amazing!!! Really friendly owners and just superb accommodation and views to die for. Great week. Highly recommended. Mike from Hampshire - 9th April 2018
A fantastic cottage in beautiful surroundings. Our hosts had thought of all the little things like plenty of towels, firewood, enough toilet rolls and a really well equipped kitchen. It was great. Powis Castle is well worth a visit. Barmouth was great and the beach at Aberdyfi was great despite the weather. Would also recommend Ynys Hir if you like birds.S Hill - 29th October 2017

Came to Bryn Aere Bach as close to a sporting event my son was attending. The location was perfect with stunning views. It was a joy to watch the birds on the feeders every morning. The surrounding countryside was equally breathtaking. The owners could not have been more helpful and seemed to have thought of everything you would need for a short break or week away.
Machynlleth was a short drive and had plenty of places to eat. Mid Wales Shooting School in Trefeglwys was a great place to participate in some clay pigeon shooting.Susan from Hertfordshire - 31st July 2017
Great location, fantastic view, owners are very welcoming.Laurent from France - 25th July 2017
Everything was perfect, thank you. Relaxing, healthy, peaceful, quality accommodation with everything you needed for a truly comfortable stay. Best self catering accommodation we have ever stayed in and we have been holidaying in UK and Europe for many years. I wish we had known about this cottage when our children were young - we would definitely recommend it for children, a great way to enjoy the outdoors if you live in an urban area.
Tips: Use the extensive literature provided in the cottage to plan your days, everything is at hand, up-to-date including maps, menus, visitor attractions and prices. We had an outdoor holiday walking, birdwatching and picnics.Margaret from Rutland - 4th June 2017
