The lush countryside in and around Hemblington is a joy to discover, with walks from the doorstep and in nearby Burlingham Woods. The area is also good cycling country and the RSPB nature reserve at Strumpshaw Fen is close at hand for birdwatchers and nature lovers alike.  The Fairhaven Woodland & Water Garden Trust at South Walsham makes for a lovely day out and The Broads network is on the doorstep for river trips, canoeing, kayaking and nature trails. Whilst here jump on the Bure Valley railway for a steam train journey that will take you from Wroxham to the lovely Georgian market town of Aylsham.  On your way to discover the cultural delights of Norwich, just 8.5 miles away, why not drop in to sample some award winning wine at the Winbirri Vineyards at Surlingham.  Norwich itself is a great city to explore with a castle, two cathedrals, the Norfolk Regimental Museum, historic riverside pubs, great restaurants and café culture and a little retail therapy is always on the cards here too! The east coast beaches are within easy reach and Winterton-on-Sea allows dogs on the beach year round if you are holidaying with your four-legged friends.  There is plenty to do in the area and one visit will probably turn in to the first of many more.

Mr Robert K,

Beautiful house in the most stunning location. The house was really well equipped with high quality features. Such a peaceful location by the lake and the walks around the woods were lovely. Ideal place to stay if you want to be close to everything but feel like you are million miles away. Would love to go back again!!

Mrs Sarah H,

Everything was great; with the exception of the heating. Underfloor heating (downstarirs) wasn't that good and never really felt that warm. sitting room was especially cold, initial logs available, but further logs had to be bought. as this was the only real way of heating downstairs, feel having to pay extra to help keep downstairs warm is a bit mean. radiators up stairs didn't really heat up at all, so was never really very warm. eventually found the switches for the towel rails (these need to be better highlighted) , which did help. But in winter, cold weather the cottage would be really to cold to be enjoyable, especially having to pay an extra £10 for subsequent logs. Everything else was all good.
