Located in the Norfolk “Gateway to the Broads”, The Gable House is a luxury self-catering getaway that elegantly blends modern comfort with traditional charm to create a holiday rich with memories and style.

All the room to come together

Within its tranquil, rural setting, The Gable House has the openness both inside and out to entertain large groups and families without worry. At the same time, though, there is a gentleness of character to this property that is sure to also bring these groups closer. The main sitting room, for example, is a bright and expansive space set out under a beautiful beamed ceiling and furnished with plush sofas that just beg you to sink into them and talk for hours. To make itself even more inviting, the sitting room features a wood burner as its focal piece. Then there is the intimacy of the snug, with its brighter shades and a wood burner set into a feature brick wall.

Again, there is plenty to do in the area. With the River Bure only a mile from The Gable House, pack a picnic and set out for a nice day’s walk along the water. The coast is a short drive away, as is the city of Norwich, for those of you with an urban itch. Starting these days around the island unit in the kitchen is sure to make these days leisurely. Again, designed with togetherness in mind, the island unit has seating for six or seven. And just think of the old-fashioned warmth of the AGA in the second kitchen. Then finish the day in the kitchen. Pull a nice bottle from the wine fridge and cook together while the children play outside. After an al fresco dinner, why not finish your drinks by the pond, as the scent of gentle summer evenings fills the air. This house truly wants you to feel at home.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

The Gable House boasts bright, airy bedrooms, and with all four rooms on the first floor featuring en-suite shower rooms, there is enough room to comfortably accommodate fourteen guests. On the first floor, the super-king size master suite offers a quiet reading corner and views over the village green. The second super-king size room can be converted to a twin room upon request on booking. Next is a double room with TV, and a king-size room. For added convenience, there is a family bathroom with WC on the first floor. On the second floor, cosily tucked under the gables for which the house earned its name, are two twin rooms and a double room. Completing the second floor is a shower room with WC.

We welcome two well-behaved dogs. Two travel cots, a high chair, stair gates, an iPod dock/radio in each bedroom, and a starter pack of fuel for the wood burners for your stay are all available. If you have young children, they should be supervised at all times near the pond as the water is unfenced. We will require a £500 security deposit, payable to Norfolk Cottages two weeks prior to the start of your holiday. Mobile phone reception is good.

Special Note: Please be aware that the Gable House driveway is shared with Gable Cottage. Galvanised planters have been set to delineate the area.
Reduced occupancy rate for parties of 8 or less, using first floor bedrooms only - during low season. Please contact us for further information.

Amazing property, there were 12 of us having a family get together and the space was more than adequate . Everyone slept well , and lovely big lounge where we played lots of games.Great pub opposite and went to the Rising Sun round the corner for breakfast on the last day .

Mr W,

An amazing very spacious property, very clean and fitted with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Located in a lovely position, close to the Norfolk broads, suitable for large family or a group of friends. The pub opposite was an added bonus with such lovely food.
