Description
Pine Lodge Cottage is a delightfully converted, self-catering property for two, set within an acre of countryside on the outskirts of the village of Stratton Strawless, where there is a good local pub and countryside walks. The area is also full of quiet lanes, which make it ideal to explore the Norfolk Broads by bicycle.
Woodland luxury
The tranquillity of Pine Lodge Cottage is amplified by its simplicity. Modern, and furnished to a high standard, the open-plan ground floor is full of light and creates a sense of ease. And even though the kitchen is chic and fully-equipped, the owners have cleverly moved the dining table and chairs into the sitting room area so as to take fuller advantage of the view and the cosiness of the wood burner in the background. Separately, the ground floor also holds a utility/cloakroom, which is equipped with a washer, tumble dryer, and WC.
Equally stylish and bright are the bedroom and bathroom upstairs. The bedroom has a king size bed, and the bathroom has both a bath and walk-in shower.
But no matter the weather or time of day, it is the private garden and its amenities that set Pine Lodge Cottage apart. In addition to a picnic table, there is a covered deck area with garden furniture and a daybed, and another covered area with a hot tub for romantic nights under the stars.
A warm welcome awaits
Inviting from the very first moment you arrive, the owners even include freshly baked scones or cakes in their welcome pack. And they will also help you celebrate special occasions – just let them know and inform them of any dietary restrictions.
Venturing farther, Blickling Hall and the market town of Aylsham are just 4.5 miles away, while the historic and culturally-rich city of Norwich is 7 miles away. The Norfolk Broads and North Norfolk Coast are both easily reachable by car.
Practicalities
We are happy to provide beach towels, a cot, high chair, stair gate, logs for the wood burner, as well as two bicycles, a bicycle carrier, and cycle helmets for your stay. If you are arriving into and departing from Norwich airport, please let us know your arrival and departure times as we offer complimentary collection and return. If you require non-allergenic bedding, we ask that you please make this request on booking, as the pillows and duvets normally provided are feather-stuffed. The property has a gated driveway for parking. Mobile phone reception is poor however there is a telephone provided for incoming and local calls only, limited to a maximum of 59 minutes.
Special Note: If required, additional guests can be accommodated on a room-only basis at the owners’ B&B.
