Description

Featuring a double-height ground floor sitting room, vaulted ceilings, oak beams, and original stained-glass windows, the Old Methodist Chapel has been wonderfully converted into an elegant self-catering coastal escape. Set in the heart of Heacham, romantics and outdoor enthusiasts alike will feel very much where they belong.

A warm sense of comfort

With its open-plan sitting room, the wood burner, and the golden hues of the wood flooring – all of which bring out an immediate and warm sense of shelter – the sophistication of the Old Methodist Chapel lies in its balance between modern style and original charm. Take for example the wrought-iron spiral staircase that leads up to the galleried landing above the sitting room. Then look at the open fireplace in the kitchen/dining room and the salvaged church pews now made tastefully inviting with their range of throw pillows. And chapels being places of gathering and love, where better to get together than around the large table for 8? Or why not dine al fresco? Through a double door in the kitchen, guests can sit around the table in the back garden to share stories and a nice glass of wine at the end of a long day on the beach. Romantics young and old might be the only ones missing from this scene. With its west-facing beaches, it shouldn’t be surprising that Heacham is well-known for its world-class sunsets.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

There are two super-king zip-and-link bedrooms on the ground floor, as well as a bathroom with WC and a separate cloakroom with WC. The next two bedrooms are on the first floor, at the top of the spiral staircase. Both are king-size rooms, one of which benefits from an en-suite bathroom. The second king-size bedroom uses a separate bathroom, also located on the first floor.

Practicalities

We welcome two well-behaved medium/small dogs. The owners provide a stairgate, a highchair, and a travel cot.

Special Note: We also offer reduced occupancy discounts for seven-night stays off season. On selected dates during low season, parties of 1 to 4 guests using bedrooms 1 and 2 only. Mobile phone signal is variable.

Reviews

We booked The Old Methodist church to celebrate my mums 70th. It was perfect. The space was fantastic and it was lovely to have the log burner and open fire making the property very homely. Home owner was very helpful, would definitely recommend to family and friends and hope to return very soon

Mrs Nicola W,

Large character former chapel with spacious living room and kitchen. Superbly equipped kitchen with open fire in corner for those winter days. Galleried double height sitting room with plenty of seating adding to the ambience. Small enclosed, sun trap garden. One allocated parking space but on street parking easily available. Plenty of books, dvds and children's toys to keep you occupied if it's raining - luckily not needed by us.

Andy J,

It is lovely and spacious with a fab kitchen!

Mrs Hannah C,

We loved the old Methodist Chapel. It was spacious, comfortable and we'll equipped. We had a great week with our children and their partners, our grandchildren and our dogs. We loved the Norfolk coast with its lovely villages, towns and beaches. Overall it was perfect for us.
