Description

Set back from the cliff overlooking the sea, Sea Salt is located in Overstrand, a coastal Norfolk village full of charm and character, and just a short, romantic walk along the sea to Cromer. Sea Salt is just as elegant as its setting, if not more. Built in the 1960s, this Art Deco property has been recently renovated into a luxury self-catering retreat for families and friends looking to relax in real style.

Interiors filled with light and space

With soft pastels, whitewashed ceiling beams, and large windows, Sea Salt brings the wealth and airiness of its setting indoors. The sitting room hosts large, comfortable seating and sea views, as well as a wood burner for those slightly chillier evenings. There are more views from the dining room, through which guests can access the enclosed back garden. There, they can sit outside for some al fresco dining at sunset and then lounge under the stars on the deck sofa. Back inside, there is a snug with a garden view, for those seeking some solitude and quiet.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

Besides a cloakroom with WC on the ground floor, there is a family bathroom on the first floor, mainly for the single room and the king-size bedroom, while the super-king size master suite has the benefit of an en-suite bathroom. And while all the bedrooms enjoy the same brightness as the rest of the house, the wrap around window in the master suite, the stylish wood boarded ceiling, and the room’s view of the morning sun will still make it the envy of the party.

Practicalities

We are happy to include a stair gate during your stay. If you have young children, they should be supervised at all times in the garden, as the land leads down to the cliff edge once out of the enclosed garden.

Reviews

This cottage is stunning! The view of the North Sea is to die for and the property was exceptionally well equipped. I would thoroughly recommend Sea Salt.

Mrs M,

Sea Salt is a fantastic house in an incredible location. It's amazing waking up and looking out to sea every day, watching the sunrise and just minutes walk to the beach for our daily surfing. The house is very comfortable and well equipped with loads of personal touches that add to the seaside feel. Pub and hotel within 2 minutes of the house with great food and children's play areas. Highly recommend.

Mrs M,

A beautiful, quiet property with the most wonderful sea views. Clean, well-equipped and comfortable, it was pretty much as described on the property listing. The Overstrand village store is just a short walk away, as is the seafront, and Norfolk coastal path. We loved the Cliff Top Cafe in the village.

Mrs D,

The only negative feedback we could give would be a few areas that could have been a bit cleaner. We found a sock under the table with the lamps on behind the sofa. A few dead bugs on windowsills. Pulled the blinds up in the main bedroom to find a clump of hair, hadn't been swept in a while! Also found someone's medication leaflet under the kitchen table. Nothing major and on the whole a lovely stay! Just for the premium price felt these things should have been noticed. Many thanks, Emma

Mrs Emma G,

The cottage was tastefully set out, with many interesting and quirky features. Second bedroom lacked facilities and was small for two people. Overall decor, furnishings were very in keeping and the dining room/snug was more than generous. Kitchen was well equipped and crockery/cutlery in abundance. Some areas would benefit from a deep clean.

Mrs Martina G,

The property was pleasant with an excellent location, however the property is not maintained or cleaned to the standard expected of a 5 star gold property. I feel that the rating and pricing needs to be reviewed. On arrival various kitchen equipment was dirty, the property was generally dusty, the blinds did not function well (we were unable to lower some), the kettle needed descaling, we didn’t use the Nespresso machine as it was unclean, the drink dispenser/ice machine in the fridge freezer was also dirty and the rugs were dirty and stained. All in all this property did not meet our expectations of a 5 star gold property. From reading the visitors book in the property the issues have clearly been ongoing for some time and have not been addressed.

mrs Michelle S,
