Description
Built of brick and flint, Makers Barn is a self-catering converted barn full of character, split levels, tucked away sitting areas, and two completely separate bedrooms suites. Not only does this provide families with more privacy when holidaying together, it adds a sense of mystery to the property's rustic elegance. Both avid and casual walkers will find plenty of routes to meet their needs, whether it's through the countryside or for a sunset stroll overlooking the water on the Norfolk Coastal Path.
The cosy eccentricity of new and old
With fresh colours and warm furnishings to evoke both Makers Barn's coastal location and history, discerning visitors will also enjoy the more contemporary tastes of large spaces full of natural light. Coming in through the front garden, the glazed front doors open on to a comfortable little family area with a wood burner and another set of glazed doors that lead to the back garden. The kitchen is modern and fully equipped, and completing the ground floor are a utility room and a cloakroom with a washbasin and WC.
Following the stairs up from the hall, the sitting room benefits from its beautiful, vaulted ceiling and exposed beams, as well as an electric wood burner style fire to set the mood, no matter what the occasion. There is also a separate reading room with armchairs.
Peaceful surroundings
Makers Barn's elegance comes from its character and setting alike. Families staying here can enjoy meals and drinks on the furnished rear patio outside. For those who would prefer to go out to eat, nearby Overstrand hosts a popular cliff-top cafe and a good pub. They could even walk along the beach to Cromer at low tide and enjoy all that this popular seaside town has to offer, including award-winning fish and chips, a range of arcades and a stunning, traditional pier.
Bedrooms and bathrooms
Down the stairs leads to the first two bedrooms and a bathroom. The first bedroom has a king-size bed and French doors that open on to the garden, while the second bedroom holds two twin beds, and its French doors give on to the rear garden. In the bathroom, there is a bath and over-bath shower, a separate shower, and WC. The next two bedrooms are on the split-level landing, headed back up the stairs, one with a double bed, and the other with twin beds. Also on the split landing is the second bathroom, with a bath and over-bath shower, and a cloakroom with WC.
Practicalities
The property has a driveway with parking space for four cars. Mobile phone reception is variable. Special Offer: 30% discount for parties of 4 and under using two bedrooms on selected low season weeks.
