Description

Country house splendour awaits. This quintessential sprawling country home with croquet on the lawn is exemplary. Play out your own family fun and games from this country seat.

Georgian gem

Sweep along the driveway that skirts the extensive lawns of Vicarage House and the image of your country home greets you, growing in detail as you drive. A sight to behold as only the finest Georgian homes are. Its instantly recognisable period features muster thoughts of Jane Austen. Symmetrical windows, sturdy chimneys and the grand, pillared front entrance await.

Open the door on a grand and welcoming hallway. Watch the children scatter in the direction of four reception rooms, up to the impressive staircase or straight through and out onto the patio and manicured lawns. Take a tour at your own pace to find where you’ll reside. A traditionally decorated sitting room doubles as a library and provides digital entertainment in the form of TV and DVD player. The drawing room beckons those in search of the open fire or easy access to the spacious patio and walled garden.

Whether someone in your party is happy catering for large numbers, you’re teaming up to provide for the masses, or you’re bringing in the professional chef available, the kitchen, larder room and formal dining room are a delight. Each spacious, practical and well equipped to host large groups, you’ll dine on the finest Norfolk produce in style.

Slink away to the pool house and you’ll find a superbly presented two bedroom annexe. Perfectly equipped with kitchen, lounge and dining area; this is a spacious bolthole of its own. Its bi-fold doors open gloriously onto the outdoor pool. Its games room is brimful with toys for all ages from table tennis to board games and a PS4. Spoilt for choice has a whole new meaning here.

The mature gardens stretch to six acres. Beyond the perfect stripes of the lawn after lawn, there is a walled garden, topiary garden, blissfully scented roses and blooming borders. You’re invited to enjoy produce from the vegetable and herb gardens. If you wonder where everyone has disappeared to and the pool is empty, head in the direction of the five-a-side football pitch or tennis court in the grounds, or see the bikes provided have gone for an explore.

Both family-friendly and pet-friendly, a travel cot, high chair and stair gate are available, and three dogs are welcome.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

Upstairs in the main house, generous bedrooms are sumptuously decorated. Four of the five are furnished with large, sinfully comfortable super king beds, while the Lilac bedroom presents a welcoming single. The Red bedroom and Teal bedroom both have en suite bathrooms.

In the pool house, there are a further three bedrooms - a super king that can be converted to a twin, a double and a king. There are two shower rooms.
