Description

Storm gazers and surfers will adore the panoramic sea views from this perfectly pitched, colourful, Art Deco haven. This one of a kind family house achieved TV fame and now it’s yours to savour.

Stimulating and restful in equal measure, feel yourself drift into 1930s movie-style heaven with a magnificent touch of modern luxury. Pop the champers, you’ve arrived! Even better, it’s pet-friendly too.

Artistic allure

From the outside, this place is striking, stunning in its pure, geometric Art Deco style. The striking aesthetic - bold colours, curved walls and furniture, exquisite craftsmanship and touches of the Orient - seamlessly weaves through this architectural gem in Pentire. This stunning restoration was featured in George Clarke’s Old House, New Home and it’s easy to see why.

No-one can resist going straight up to the panoramic windows displaying Newquay’s surf and headland. For a moment of pure mindfulness, just sink into the views. Watching neat sets of waves roll in and across the world-famous Fistral beach will bring you pure peace. It’s a storm-watchers dream.

The vast open living space invites everyone to spread out, take up their own space in luxury. Perhaps you’ll take a prime spot on the large sofa in front of the cool white Woodburner, the stunning sea views still in reach. Or perhaps you prefer a pew at the kitchen’s sky blue and white island, carefully placed so that whoever is the chef for the day doesn’t miss out on the conversation, or the ever-changing sky.

You’ll be wowed by the skilful use of bright colours that somehow don’t overwhelm the senses but stimulate them. It just wouldn’t be the same without the huge pink Smeg fridge and Frida Kahlo cushions, or the many original artworks that grace the walls.

Outside, there’s a huge glass balcony as well as a spacious, sheltered garden planted all around with carefully considered plant life to act as windbreaks. Little ones will adore the outdoor playhouse too.

A 5-minute stroll will take you to the beach at South Fistral. And when you’re revived enough to hit the wine bars and restaurants of buzzing Newquay, an easy 15-minute walk will take you there.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

Four striking bedrooms in the main house each have their own distinct character with wonderful wallpapers. The master enjoys its own en suite wet room and a study area with door and steps down to the garden. The fifth bedroom is in the ‘hideaway’ - a separate annexe with its own kitchen-diner and lounge area - not for the tall people in your tribe - with doors leading to the garden and views over Fistral beach.
