Old Pear Tree Barn, which was a hay barn and piggery in a previous life, has been creatively and beautifully converted to provide a luxurious, peaceful and ecologically-sound holiday home. You’ll love the rustic feel but with a contemporary twist. Underfloor heating, painted wooden panelling, apex ceilings and exposed beams combined with high specification facilities, soft furnishings in relaxing hues and oodles of charm all come together in an idyllic setting. The extensive, well-tended gardens are a delight and planted to ensure year-round colour and texture. With a choice of outdoor relaxing spaces positioned to make the most of the scenic views, you’ll want to stay forever.
Think of a quintessential country cottage setting and Old Pear Tree Barn fits the bill perfectly. Tucked away at the end of a private lane in the middle of a glorious Cornish rural landscape but still just a few minutes’ drive to the sandy beach at Holywell Bay, which welcomes dogs (and children) all year round. Other local beaches include the miles of golden sand and dunes at Perranporth and the famous surfing beaches at Newquay about 5 miles distant.
The tiny village of Cubert is close by and with its village store is the perfect stop-off point on your way home from exploring the area to restock with your daily essentials. The picturesque thatched Smuggler’s Den Inn is a short walk to the end of the lane and has a traditional bar with open fire and serves a good selection of locally produced beers and wine. The restaurant offers a choice of classic British food using local produce.

Bedroom 1: King size bed (5’), bedside tables, plenty of clothes storage. En Suite bathroom: Bath with double-head rainfall shower over, basin, WC, heated towel rail. French doors leading out to the garden. Countryside views.
Bedroom 2: Twin beds (2’6” wide – may be joined to form a king size bed – please request at the time of booking), bedside table, clothes storage. Views to the garden.
Shower Room: Thermostatic double-head luxury shower, basin and WC, heated towel rail.
Living Room: Sky TV, Bose sound system, selection of books, games and DVDs. Doors leading to wrap-around glass-fronted balcony with bistro table and chairs and extensive views.
GARDEN & PARKING: Fully-enclosed with masses of space. Paved terrace with garden furniture, sun loungers and barbecue. Private parking sufficient for several vehicles, boat, kayaks.
Changeover Day: Friday - arrival 4:00pm - departure 10:00am
Pets Welcome: Maximum 3 dogs - £25 per pet per week.
Power and Heat: Electricity included in price, underfloor heating, heated towel rails in bathrooms.
Baby Equipment: Travel cot, high chair and stair gate available – please request at the time of booking.
Bedding and Linen: Luxury bed linen and towels provided. Beach towels and doggy towel also provided.
