Description

Retreat to this elegantly cosy, strikingly stylish apartment for a truly luxurious escape. You’ll be urged to ‘breathe’. You can’t resist sinking into relaxation with sea air calling and sinfully sumptuous interiors awaiting your return.

Sumptuous escape

The stunning use of colour lifts this classic Cornish cottage transformation into the stratosphere. Bold blues and calming greens, oak wood panelling and sheepskin throws create the most elegant of cosy spaces, carefully blended with modern lines.

You’ll notice the skilful mix of ancient stonework and modern decor the moment you arrive. Swing open the imposing wooden front door to reveal a treasure trove of design. Perhaps you’ll see the immense original inglenook fireplace in the living room, complemented by an enormous bright blue velvet chaise sofa, or the vivid pink neon sign reminding you to simply ‘breathe’.

As morning breaks, settle into the corner seating in the crisp kitchen for a relaxed breakfast. Throw open the bi-folds and let the sea air in. Copper features inject light and life into the walls. A crisp clean kitchen is offset by the hygge features, including lambskin chair throws and natural stone lintels.

Children of all ages will be entertained whatever the weather, as the enormous TV is Netflix ready and with Nintendo games console on order.

The warmth of the wooden floors and stunning pendant lighting gives the beautiful master bedrooms a chic vibe. Set into the wall under two stone lintels are trinket shelves. In the second bedroom, painted grey stone walls are counterpointed by designer wood panelling, which lifts this into a sumptuous space.

The painted grey walls of the underground bathroom create a Scandi feel. Sink into the Victoria & Albert freestanding stone bath and escape! Or huddle under the monsoon shower - it’s made for two.

Outside, watch the world go by in classic Cornish pace from your stone seating area. Stretch out on the comfortable outdoor sofas and light the barbecue. Grilled sardines fresh from the sea, anyone?

With four stunning beaches to choose from, head out for a swim and go wildlife spotting with seal, shark and dolphins to tick off your list. Rolling hills stretch back from the coast, with reminders of the area’s mining past. Indulge in a Poldark moment as you hike the windy clifftop paths.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

One king-size and one twin provide perfect family accommodation. They share a gorgeous bathroom with freestanding stone bath and separate monsoon shower.

Reviews

The cottage was even more impressive in real life. It felt like a home from home. Everything we needed was there including clothes pegs! The host left us a bottle of Prosecco and scones, cream and jam which was incredibly thoughtful. The visitors guide was detailed and answered all queries we had. I couldn’t rate this cottage or St Agnes more. The local people were incredibly friendly and we had a fabulous 4 days.
