Description
Bliss. It could be a lot closer to home than you ever thought possible. In a hot tub, for example. With a glass of bubbly in hand. And sweeping views over National Trust hills and cliffs, towards the azure sea.
Space designed for living
Floor-to-ceiling windows frame the classic colours of the lounge. Its rich burgundy tones and the roaring log burner make this a cosy place to enjoy dramatic weather from pink-hued summer sunsets to windy winter mornings. Step into the kitchen, meanwhile, and be greeted by a space designed from the ground up for entertaining – so pop on some records and have a little fun. Polished obsidian-black worktops and the ample dining space are flooded with light by the patio doors, which marry the indoors with your striking raised decking area.
Next, wander through the spacious hallway to the sleeping accommodation. Here you’ll discover sumptuous rooms decorated with the discipline of bright, white sheets, pared-back pops of colour for maximum impact and sea views on the north aspect.
Not to mention the outdoor space would be to do this fabulous holiday home a disservice. On endless summer days, recline on sun loungers on the decked terrace as the cool breeze blows in from the Atlantic. Glass partitions allow for uninterrupted views, while the pretty bistro furniture is perfect for breakfasts of coffee and croissants or evening drinks. On the lower level, the lawn is private, secure and lined with established hedges and palm fronds.
Step outside and Ilfracombe's High Street is just half a mile’s saunter down the hill. The fabulous architecture of this Victorian resort town is today populated by independent businesses including sustainable retailers, fabulous food producers and bijou cafés. Wander over to the harbour, where brightly-coloured boats bob in the impossibly-blue waters. Indulge yourself in beach days that rejuvenate the senses, or explore the fascinating silhouettes of Ilfracombe’s famous Tunnel Beaches.
Bedrooms and bathrooms
The Farthings is fully-equipped for larger groups, with four bedrooms and three bathrooms. There are two spacious master bedrooms with sumptuous super-king beds and en suites (both with showers, one with a bath), a third bedroom with king-size bed and a twin room with one fixed single bed and one trundle bed. The family bathroom is kitted-out with a bath and walk-in shower. There are heated towel rails and clever features like smart TVs and Bluetooth mirrors throughout.
