Puttsborough is an immaculately presented 3 bedroomed, detached, house within easy access of the popular Blue Flag surfing beach and historic golf club of Westward Ho! Just a short walk brings you into the heart of the village providing a good choice of shops, cafes and family friendly pubs and restaurants. The stunning pebble ridge and nearby flora and fauna of Northam Burrows makes the area a delight for walkers and nature lovers. Venturing further afield the dramatic coastline of Hartland and famous cobbled High Street of Clovelly are accessible within half an hour whilst the port town of Bideford is just a few minutes’ drive away. The young and young at heart can have a great time at the Big Sheep or the Milky Way Adventure Park and for a more relaxed environment the RHS Garden Rosemoor is also within a scenic drive.
It is obvious from the minute you walk through the door that the owners of Puttsborough wish their guests to have the best and so, together with the help of an interior designer, have created a unique, relaxed and warm home away from home. With beautifully co-ordinated furnishings and carefully chosen fixtures and fittings, they have done all they can to ensure their guests will enjoy staying here as much as they themselves do.
Private parking for 2 cars is provided right outside the back gate and a small garden path leads you to one of the two entrance doors. Access is also possible from the front of the property. Puttsborough is named in relation to golf putting and with the Royal North Devon Golf Club (the oldest in the country), within 400 yards, it is no wonder reference to golfing can be discretely found throughout the house. The unique coat hooks in the hallway being a prime example, whilst a handy storage box below contains throws for outdoor use. The ground floor has Kardean flooring through-out and all rooms have controllable underfloor heating. The spacious kitchen/dining room provides ample storage and worktop space, whilst virtually the length of one wall is window, allowing natural light to flood in. A contemporary table with seating for 6 is strategically placed for conversation to flow during food preparation and throughout the meal. An open plan design with part central wall provides easy access from kitchen to living room where comfy seating, including unusual bamboo “golf chairs,” 42” Smart TV + Netflix, Google Home Mini and a wood burner provide the perfect setting in which to relax after a day with sandwiches on the beach or sand wedges on the golf course!
Bedroom 1 is a king on the ground floor, with sliding doors to an en-suite providing large walk-in rainfall shower, separate handheld shower attachment, heated towel rail, WC and basin. The bedroom itself is a good size with large built-in wardrobe, tallboy, beside tables (each with handy pull-out shelf), chair and unusual framed mirror creating a focal point. Patio doors lead out to the garden area, with table and chairs, ideal for relaxing with that first morning cuppa. The ground floor also has a handy utility room with washing machine etc as well as providing ample storage for domestic equipment and useful hangers for drying wet-suits on the hooks provided outside.
Carpeted stairs with handrail, lead up to a spacious and airy landing with storage boxes, large wall mirror and clever window design. Bedroom 2 is a twin with zip ‘n’ link option to super-king (available on request at time of booking). This lovely, good size, colour co-ordinated room has beach themed décor, large windows, built-in wardrobe, wall-mounted Smart TV and great lampshades! Bedroom 3 is a king with an en-suite shower room. This individually designed bedroom is co-ordinated in a coastal theme with unusual bedside tables, wall-mounted TV and bi-folding doors which lead out onto the balcony where you will find a small bistro table and 2 chairs with views across the Burrows. The en-suite features a large rainfall walk-in shower, heated towel rail, WC and basin. A separate family bathroom on the first floor provides a double ended bath with hand-held shower attachment, heated towel rail and cleverly recessed frosted window.
Outside, the owners provide a pleasant seating area with table and chairs and a built-in barbecue area (disposable BBQ tray provided), along with outdoor blankets and throws. The garden is neatly kept with pots containing shrubs, interspersed with chippings and a small artificial grass area.

We loved our holiday using this excellent property as a base. Clean, modern and spacious in a lovely quiet area of Westward Ho! Beds comfy, showers powerful and extremely well equipped house. I'm pretty fussy and Puttsborough ticked all the boxes. 10 minute walk to shops, amusements and eateries (pig & olive pizza recommended) and 15 mins across the golf course to the beach. We would return and recommend to others.
