Description

Indulge in country chic in its native setting from your riverside location on the edge of Snowdonia National Park. Pack the pooch and something for the hot tub, then relax in rural luxury.

Game changer

They say home is where the heart is and you’ll want to leave a bit of yours here at Gamekeepers Cottage. This heavenly spot on the banks of the River Dee packs in style and comfort and calls you to relax. Its suntrap of a south facing garden begs you to dine al fresco, to dally through your days fishing on a 150m stretch of the river, and to savour the dark skies of an evening from serenity of your own private hot tub. The enclosed garden means your canine friends can roam within sight too.

Inside the slate floors keep you cool in the summer and are perfectly warm with underfloor heating in the cooler months. The sitting room with its lets-sink-in sofas adds to the country chic vibe with its antler style chandeliers and tartan throws as you snuggle up in front of the wood burner, roaring or not. The kitchen diner has all the glory of a Welsh farmhouse kitchen with generous worktops should you wish to rustle up some Bara Brith or scones for afternoon tea by the river. When the sun is out, open the glazed doors directly onto the patio, choose a bottle from the wine fridge and enjoy your meal outside instead.

Make the most of your surroundings here and enjoy the woodland walks around the estate or explore further by bike. Upon your return lavish in the cyclist provisions including bike washing facilities and a selection of basic maintenance tools and repairs kits. Not forgetting the secure bike store available on site. Also on site is a communal games room and laundry facility. One of five cottages on the estate, which accommodate up to 30 guests in total, you could descend with more of your pals or extended family.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

There are four equally sumptuous bedrooms at Gamekeepers Cottage. Each bedroom has a king size bed that can alternatively be prepared for you as twin beds, upon request. And each bedroom has a Villeroy & Boch en suite bath or shower room. Three of the four bedrooms are on the ground floor. The master bedroom has an exquisitely positioned freestanding roll top bath. Roll the blind up to enjoy the views across the river to their fullest.

Reviews

Will definitely be returning. The standard was excellent and the welcome was very warm. Will recommend.
