Description

Nestled on the North Norfolk coast in an area of outstanding natural beauty, David's Barn is dedicated to lifestyle and class. Now a luxury self-catering gem, this beautifully transformed former barn is the perfect getaway for walkers, birdwatchers, beach-goers, and plain old born-again lovers.

Humble elegance

David’s Barn is quaint and unassuming in its style. Featuring an uncomplicated open-floor layout, the main area consists of vaulted ceilings and exposed beams and brick walls in the sitting room, followed by two steps up to the bright and airy kitchen/dining room. The rooms are awash in natural light, and out the barn doors in the dining room is the courtyard patio, furnished with a table and chairs. And though its charm is immediately obvious, its perfection lies in the detailed attention to comfort – the wine fridge in the kitchen, for example, or the underfloor heating. Even the barn’s coastal location, evoked by the blue and white motif used throughout the property.

At the end of a long and leisurely day, bring home some fish and chips from the local pub, or cook up a hearty meal at home. Pull a bottle from the fridge and enjoy a Champagne moment while dining under a world-class sunset. Then, when the night gets cool, wander back inside and cuddle up in the cosy comfort of the sitting room’s wood burner.

With the Norfolk Coast on your doorstep, and with so much comfort and charm, David's Barn has all the makings of a memorable holiday.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

By extension of its graceful simplicity, both bedrooms at David’s Barn are unpretentious and yet sophisticated. Both are light and airy and feature high ceilings and exposed beams. Off the main area, the king-size master suite benefits from an en-suite bathroom, and David’s Barn is as ideal for couples as it is for young families, in that the king-size bed in the second bedroom is convertible (upon request) to two twin beds. This second bedroom also has an en-suite shower room.

Practicalities

The owners welcome two well-behaved pets. The owner also provides a travel cot, highchair, bottle steriliser and logs for the wood burner. Access to a freezer is available at the owner’s property next door, but we ask that you please notify us at the time of booking if this will be required during your stay. Mobile phone reception is variable.

Special Note: David’s Barn is situated next door to Simon’s Barn and are ideal for families or friends who wish to holiday together while retaining their own space.

Reviews

Description didn't mention the barn is right next to the church, and the bells ring every 15 minutes, throughout the night too|!

Mrs Katie B,

The property is opposite the church which has a clock that strikes every quarter hour. This means that it is unfeasible to open any window at night. Property issues: 1) toilet in first bedroom is loose. 2) window catch does not engage in first bedroom 3) casement stay in second bedroom does not locate on lugs 4) there is a smell of heating oil/diesel emanating from an access door in second bedroom 5) the wine cooler is very noisy - we switched it off at night 6) a lot of the kitchen unit doors were delaminating 7) the bin is located away from the food prep area - not particularly useful. The beds were comfy and the showers powerful, and the overall look of the place was quite pleasing.
