At the end of a long, meandering lane, deep in the rolling, North Wales countryside lies this charmingly renovated self-catering retreat. The historic town of Denbigh is only six miles away, and yet will you feel so far from everything that the stars at night will feel close enough to touch. Featuring stone walls, exposed beams, and brass-and-iron bed frames, come to relax in style at Hafan Hiraethog and experience the beauty of time and space.

Mountain views and space to breathe

Sure to delight families and friends in search of unspoiled remoteness, Hafan Hiraethog has been cleverly designed to combine the spaciousness of its location with a cosy sense of shelter. Nowhere in the house is this better captured than in the contemporary, oak conservatory. There, guests can relax and enjoy the panoramic views of the Clwydian Mountains and countryside.

Within the main house, the fully-equipped kitchen is made to feel airy thanks to its large windows and French doors. Through the French doors, guests can step out onto the patio. Dine al fresco, share thoughts and stories, then watch the sun give way to the stars. When the night gets cool, wander back inside and warm up by the wood burner in the sitting room.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

Hafan Hiraethog features a double room, full of character and style, on the ground floor. Guests staying in this room have a shower room with WC available to them through the utility room. Tucked under the gables on the first floor are a second double room and a twin room. These two rooms have access to a stylish tiled bathroom with WC.

A starter bag of firewood is provided and additional bags of coal are available at £8 per bag, while additional logs will cost £3 per bag. We are also happy to provide a high chair, and travel cot, but ask that you please request these upon booking. The property does not have WiFi, making it an even greater escape from day-to-day life.

Special Note: The ground floor double bedroom and the wet room may be suitable for less mobile guests.

I was looking for somewhere remote, no cars, no noisy neighbours, private, peaceful - Hafan Hiraethog delivers on all of those things! It has everything you would ever need in a three bedroom cottage with the most modern amenities in every room for your comfort and enjoyment! For anyone looking to use it as a launch pad to visit the best of North Wales attractions, then it’s quite well positioned. Not far to Bala, Snowdonia, Anglesey, Caernarfon, all the castles, zip wire places such as Llechwedd, etc. Denbigh is twenty mins away for supermarkets and restaurants. The coast is not much further too. But for me, perfect peace in a thoroughly modern cottage with bags of history, full of character. Every possible need is catered for - all the cooking equipment you would ever need, and a barbecue outside too. The tv is fine and there is a selection of dvd’s for your enjoyment. Each bedroom is tastefully presented and extremely comfortable and homely. The bathroom and shower room are modern and well equipped. The garden has spectacular views, and nothing in sight at all aside from fields, hills and sheep. There is parking space for at least four or five vehicles. And there is a sun room / conservatory which is perhaps the crowning glory of the property, with its comfort, and its outlook. The views were awesome, and the company of dozens of sheep in the fields right next to the cottage was a huge plus. You could sit for hours and watch them grazing, it is so relaxing. The owners of Hafan Hiraethog are so helpful and so wonderful too, anything needed and they are a couple of minutes away in their own nearby cottage, close enough to help, but far enough away that you wouldn’t even know they were there. And thanks to Best of Wales, who are great in answering any and all queries in advance of your holiday, for a seamless and easy booking experience.
