Description

Beautifully restored stone cottage with lots of modern and traditional features providing spacious accommodation for two. The North York Moors sits on its doorstep and Whitby and the coast is just a short distance away.

Sitting deep in the leather sofa, relaxing on your sunny outdoor patio and looking out to the Moors. The best of traditional Yorkshire with just the right modern touches – do getaways for two come any better?

Moorland gateway

Bright skies, the freshest air and that stunning landscape that the North York Moors do so very well. All on your doorstep and your views from your traditional stone cottage will prove it. Stunningly restored, this lovely holiday home has kept all its original character but added the right dose of modern features too so that a comfortable and relaxing break comes guaranteed.

Inside the pretty stone walls, you’ll find a world of space and light. A giant armchair and ample sofa gleam in plush brown leather and are placed to make the most of the woodstove tucked stylishly into the fireplace feature. And through the windows, the Moors beckon with the promise of many great days out.

Flow-through into your kitchen where rustic notes combine to perfection with all mod cons. You’ll love the Rangemaster and the gleaming white subway tiles that match the white granite countertops to perfection. Wood cabinetry in the kitchen and dining nook adds another touch of the countryside.

Upstairs, tucked under the eaves is your bedroom, another quiet and peaceful sanctuary where a sound night’s sleep is a given. An added luxury here comes in the form of your own dressing room. The bathroom packs in the modern touches in sleek marble and an uber-modern vanity.

In a previous existence, your cottage doubled as the bar in the TV series Heartbeat. But with its serenity restored and a haven of peace and quiet, you’d never guess. And the pretty village of Goathland is just along the street if you fancy a touch of hustle and bustle. But only a touch because this is, after all, the North York Moors where life moves slowly and sedately in time with nature.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

The Farm Cottage has two bedrooms upstairs, one double and a small twin. There’s also a shower room on this floor with a handy cloakroom downstairs.

Reviews

A lovely well equipped and decorated cottage. Well placed foe exploring the moors and the coast.

Miss S,

Lovely location near the village which gets very busy due to the Heartbeat connection, the locals are very friendly and the walks around are magnificent. Highly recommended.

Mr H,

The parking was difficult don,t no where people would park with a larger car .The stairs were difficult for the less mobile and the patio was horrible to walk and sit at .There was no butter knife and the table needed packing to make it level and stop it rocking. The score for recomending your salves was because of the mixup up and stress over payment.

Mr Terance N,

Easy to book on line. Kept informed as holiday date approaches. On this occasion cottage was in a great location and met all our needs.

Mr Michael L,

SCORES FOR THIS PROPETY WOULD HAVE BEEN VERY HIGH. HOWEVER, THER IS A MAJOR ISSUE REGARDS PARKING, WHICH IS NOT CLEAR ON THE DISCRIOTION

Mr Martin B,

Great cottage in a picture postcode setting

Mr Barry C,

Lovely cottage in a fantastic location. We felt right at home and In fact spent a lot of our evenings just in the cottage. Hoping to return next year

Miss Jasmine M,

This was my 3rd stay at Old Farm Cottage, always a high standard.

Mrs Sally M,

We had a great weekend and the cottage is lovely. However, when we arrived at 4pm on the Thursday evening the house was very, very cold. I don't think anyone had been in it for a few days and we thought we could have gone in a bit earlier when it was daylight. Once we lit the fire and switched on the panel radiator it did warm up later in the evening.

Mrs Jennifer K,
