Description
If your idea of a luxury holiday includes partial sea views, heroic settings, and a glass of wine with family and friends at sunset, then look no further than this bright and spacious self-catering cottage overlooking the village of Tresaith in West Wales.
The stuff of legends
Tresaith means “Town of Seven”, and legend has it that the name comes from seven Irish daughters who married the sons of seven local Welsh families. Standing within an easy walk of the shores upon which these daughters landed, Hafod y Bryn makes it clear why anyone would want to settle here. Featuring a stunning, open-plan kitchen and dining room on the first floor, this holiday cottage will be the beginnings of its own tales of serendipity.
Located in an area known today for its sandy beaches, coastal trails, bottle-nose dolphin sightings, and waterfalls cascading into the sea, Tresaith and the county of Ceredigion are still rich with stories to explore of rebels and princes. At the end of the day, wind down on the comfy leather sofa in the kitchen while the food cooks and the children play in the games room downstairs. On warmer days, open the floor-to-ceiling, wrap-around windows and step out onto the patio for an aperitif and al fresco dinner. Afterwards, as the stories of the day’s adventures start passing around, let your mind wander the sea views from the sitting room. Curl up on the deep, leather sofas and let the wood burner gently warm you. Or why not sit out on the balcony to enjoy a romantic view of the sea at sunset?
Bedrooms and bathrooms
Rising over three floors, Hafod y Bryn hosts an en-suite, king-size bedroom on the ground floor. Separately, there is a stylish shower room with WC. The two bedrooms on the first floor are ideal for children, and the location couldn’t be better for parents as they will be able to keep an ear out while they relax together over a bottle of wine. Sharing the twin room with the two twin beds is a full-size bunk bed. There are a sofa bed and a spare single bed in an additional room on the first floor. The children and guests staying on the first floor have access to the family bathroom. Finally, there are two more king-size rooms on the second floor. Both rooms benefit from en-suite bathrooms and Juliette balconies – one with a sea view, the other with a view of the woodlands to the rear.
Practicalities
There is plenty of parking in the drive and nearby. A Kettle Drum portable barbeque is available at the property. A high chair, stair gate, and a travel cot are all provided, but we ask that you bring your own cot bedding.
