Description
Make a traditional farmhouse your own and enjoy true relaxation in pretty hillside farmland, with sheep grazing green pastures on your doorstep. Dreamy countryside life never felt more elegant and authentic.
Character in spades
History is hiding around every corner at this beautiful farmhouse, with character features to discover and hidden gems to stumble upon. In the lounge, a traditional fireplace is the stunning centrepiece of the room, matched by gnarled oak beams, a grandmother clock and the original Welsh dresser. Once, this would have been the engine room of the house. The small door in the corner may have revealed a servants’ stairway. The enormous flagstone flooring reaches between this sitting room and the smaller snug, where you’ll want to curl up with a book and lose yourself.
The kitchen is everything you’d expect and more. Terracotta tiles on the floor are warmed by the heat of cooking, wood panelling lines the walls and more exposed beams crisscross the ceiling. A striking butler sink is set into traditional oak kitchen units and an electric range oven evokes original features.
This strong sense of tradition extends upstairs into the bedrooms, where soft greys and greens are paired with wood and authentic features like cottage doors and Suffolk latches. There are views out over the rolling green hills to wake up to, and lots of space for everyone to relax.
Outdoors, a covered hot tub is the star attraction. Built into its own wooden gazebo shelter with a skylight above, this is a place to watch the clouds drift by for hours on end. Serve tea and cakes on the wrought iron patio furniture next to the covered well, or race round to the front of the house where the large lawn is perfect for dogs to frolic and children to play.
Bedrooms and bathrooms
There are four bedrooms in this charming country farmhouse. The first has a king-size bed and en suite with shower, the second has full-size single bunk beds and the third a double bed with en suite and shower. The fourth bedroom is a twin with full-size single beds. The main bathroom has a bath and hand shower.
