Description

Nestled along the slopes overlooking the beautiful Cardigan Bay and Poppit sands, Madiwela is a stunning, self-catering coastal retreat overlooking the dolphin-water bays in the west of Wales enjoying spectacular, uninterrupted sea views.

Escape to the sea

Just minutes away from some of the best coastal walks in Wales, a short drive to the ancient town of Cardigan and the renowned bay itself – Madiwela is the perfect holiday home for a warm seaside retreat.
Light pastel colours and deep wood features encapsulate the essence of Madiwela’s coastal location, while the modern kitchen and sleek bathrooms appeal to the contemporary tastes of discerning guests. As you step into the entrance, you’re greeted with a light, open reception area with a beautiful wood staircase leading you to the upper and lower floors.

The family area is spacious yet cosy, inspired by its proximity to the ocean, with large seascape canvases adorning the wall. A glass-fronted porch opens up to magnificent views across the bay and allows a fresh sea breeze to drift through the property. The kitchen has a modern twist of candy reds and sleek stainless appliances, fully equipped with a Rangemaster double oven and full sized fridge – perfect for families on week-long stays. Two large dining areas seat up to eight guests respectively, ideal for hearty dinners after a day outdoors, and a utility room with a freezer, washing machine, washbasin and additional storage for all your beach gear. Interesting antique and oriental furniture throughout the property including a coffee table made from a camel cart.

The property has two attractive gardens including a front lawn with a stunning, contemporary water feature and uninterrupted views across the Cardigan Bay seascape, while the rear garden has an open terrace, and luxury seating perfect for dining outdoors.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

As you head to the upper floors, you’ll discover two double bedrooms and a twin room, sleeping up to six visitors. The king-sized master bedroom enjoys a light, airy en-suite with walk-in shower and breathtaking sea views. The second double room also boasts stunning ocean vistas, while the third, twin room opens up to the rear of the property. It’s worth noting the twin beds can be pushed together to create a comfortable double.

Practicalities

Baby items such as a high chair, travel cot and stair gate are all available on request, but guests are asked to bring their own cot linen. Water features in the garden are shallow but please ensure small children are supervised at all times.

Reviews

Had a really great week at this lovely property. The view is gorgeous and difficult to tear yourself away from. There is a nice cliff walk to the local beach which is accessed by fairly steep steps, so maybe not ideal for everyone, but plenty of other beaches to visit just a short drive away. Overall a great location for a relaxing holiday and a wonderfully comfortable home too go back to after a day's walking and exploring the area. Would definitely return.

Mr W,

Here to celebrate my 30th birthday and had such a wonderful time in this house. The view is unforgettable and such a pleasure to wake up to each morning. We went to Poppit Sands and walked the trail. We would recommend Crwst in Cardigan for great food and coffee and the Cliff Hotel for a drink with a view.

Previous Customer,

We returned again six months after our last visit. This is a great place to recharge and revitalise. The walks ass are fantastic as the house- a great place to return to!

Past Customer,

Wow! Wow! Wow! What a wonderful week we've had! The view is simply breath taking and we have been spoilt by the most beautiful sunsets. A great place to explore the area. We particularly liked Aberporth, Llangrannog, Poppit sands, Cwm yr Eglwys and Tresaith. Crwst in Cardigan was delicious. Pizza Tipi by the river was lovely too. We took advantage of the well equipped kitchen and did some baking. Many games of Rummicub were enjoyed. Hope to return in the future.
