Description

Tucked away in the glorious Kent countryside are Lower Standen Farm and its Granary. The Farm provides wraparound comfort with five bedrooms and rambling living space, while the Granary offers another three across the driveaway.

Farmhouse splendour

From the vast original fireplace and the sumptuous Duresta sofa in the sitting room, to original flagstone and oak floors, subtly incorporated antiques, formal dining area and outdoor heated pool, you'll be immersed in homely luxury at Lower Standen Farm. One foot in the spectacular entrance hall and you’ll be drawn into this most comfortable of country holiday homes.

Whether you reside in the main sitting room, hunker down in the snug or retreat to one of the beautiful bedrooms, you’ll find yourself amidst character and charm, and exemplary interiors. The formal dining room is a gem of space to bring family and friends together over a bustling brunch or devilishly fun dinner party.

Across the circular gravel driveway the Granary presents a self-contained three bedroom holiday home with kitchen and sitting room furnished with games and toys for entertainment.

Explore the grounds and you’ll soon occupy the largest of groups. A spare barn accommodates table tennis and a wander across the lawn through mature trees with their swings reveals a pool, heated in the summer months, if the squeals of splashing delight don’t reach you first. You could be a while finding everyone in a game of hide and seek here.

This part of rural Kent is home to some of the country’s most renowned National Trust properties at Sissinghurst and Scotney. The coast is within easy reach and promised both history and sandcastle building in abundance at Rye and Camber.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

This gorgeous country abode breezily sleeps 16 guests. The bedrooms incorporate the striking original features of the former barn's beam work and jaw-dropping countryside views. In the farmhouse there are three bedrooms and a family bathroom on the first floor. You’ll swoon over all aspects over the master bedroom from its setting amongst the beams and the French antique style bedroom to the stunning en suite bathroom with its mosaic tiles and deep freestanding bath. The queen size double also has a fabulous en suite with a bath big enough for two and the third bedroom on this floor can be a twin or a king size according to your needs. The two bedrooms on the second floor both offer truckle beds accommodating four guests in total. The bedrooms in the granary offer a king size bed, a single truckle bed and bunks beds respectively.

Reviews

Kent and Sussex holidays were excellent to deal with and answered any questions we had about the property and local areas. Our family really enjoyed staying at Lower Standen Farm which was very spacious for a large group and we had lots of fun enjoying the big garden and swimming pool. We would highly recommend this property and would consider returning in the near future.

Mrs Pauline C,

The house has been very sensitively converted and is full of interest. It is spacious and tasteful. It is the best equipped we have ever stayed in, both in terms of practicality and leisure. The grandchildren absolutely adored the tree swings, the table tennis, the many games & books.... The only thing we would have improved would be the seating in the main lounge, which we found rather uncomfortable, but it’s a very minor thing overall!

Madeline H,

Thank you for the beautiful home for the week. We very much enjoyed our time here, the grounds are beautiful and the house is charming. Many fun memories were made here!

K B,

Just spent a wonderful weekend in this beautiful home. Fantastic space for everyone to be together and we loved the whole area. Really enjoyed walking to Bodiam Castle.

Fiona H,

We had a wonderful stay, we loved all sitting at the long dining table pretending we were at Hogwarts! Can't wait to come back soon!
