Description
Set in its own large and tranquil garden in the foothills of Cader Idris, Berthlwyd is a traditional Welsh stone cottage rich in elegance and history. With quaint pubs and restaurants in the nearby town of Dolgellau, and the golden beaches of Barmouth just nine miles away, Berthlwyd is a host of opportunities, no matter the time or mood.
Find luxury in the foothills
Standing peacefully in the countryside, just one mile from Dolgellau, this luxury self-catering cottage is a perfect base for families and small groups wanting to explore the Mawddach Trail and Snowdonia National Park’s southern hills and mountains. At Berthlwyd, guests can curl up by the wood burner and enjoy the panoramic view over the Mawddach valley. For those who don’t feel ready to settle inside yet after a day outdoors, a glass of wine and an al fresco dinner at the picnic table may be just the right way to bring your day to a close, while watching the stars slowly take over the sunset.
Bedrooms and bathrooms
With a cloakroom with WC on the ground floor, the two bedrooms and the family bathroom are on the first floor. There is a king-size room, while the main bedroom hosts a double bed as well as a single bed. Both bedrooms are wonderfully bright and enjoy the same traditional elegance that suffuses the rest of the house – wood floors, half-vaulted ceilings, and stunning views – there is no better way to make memories than a stay at Berthlwyd.
Practicalities
A starter basket of firewood is provided for your stay. Additional logs are available for £5 per basket load. We are also happy to provide a high chair, stair gate, and a travel cot, but ask that you please request these on booking.
