You’ll be looking out for most of your stay. It’s hard to draw your eyes away from the fascinating sea views which this house has been designed around. Pour a glass and daydream. Indulge in nature’s glory.

Eco luxe

The oh-so-comfy sitting room is inviting, warmed by the stove when you need it and with sink-into sofas that just welcome you to relax. Upstairs you’ll find an enormous open plan living, kitchen and dining area. A huge panel of glass pulls you to gaze at the sea. Settle in with a glass of something chilled in hand. You can’t fail to relax here. ‘Mindfulness’ cannot be avoided as you let the gentle pace of life wash over you.

There’s a choice of doors to lead you out to the upper terrace with its swish glass panels, and steps down to the equally fabulous lower terrace, just above Porthleven’s famous beach. Sit out and listen to the ‘song of the sea’, inhale the freshest sea air, watch the activity in the harbour below and simply be. Perhaps you’ll spot a pod of whales. Take advantage of the telescope before someone else does.

A state-of-the-art kitchen is to be expected in this high tech house and it certainly delivers. Very smart fittings are complemented by excellent appliances. A dream kitchen to make self-catering truly enjoyable.

While you’re admiring nature, it’s good to know that this house is working to preserve it. A ground source heat pump powers the cosy underfloor heating. Hot water is reliably provided with the help of solar panels. Inside the air is filtered, clean and freshly provided through a heat recovery ventilation system. All grey water is recycled rain water. It’s modern eco living at its most luxurious.

Porthleven is a jewel in West Cornwall’s stunning coastline. Fishermen land their catches daily at the busy harbour. Source the freshest fish you can buy from the Quayside fishmongers. This is the perfect spot to explore the wonders of the Lizard Peninsula and Land’s End. Next landfall out to the West is Boston!

Bedrooms and bathrooms

King size beds in every room, beautiful linens and space to spread out give every room that luxury edge. Two bedrooms have their own en suite. Sink into the bath after a day on the beach.

We had a fantastic stay at Song of The Sea in May 2021.

Mr T,

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G We are so glad that we have had the opportunity to stay at this beautiful house. Superbly designed and a view that is breathtaking. We stayed during the July heatwave and sitting on the terrace with a glass of wine we really could have been anywhere in the world.

OMG we had the best time ever. What a truly fantastic house. Views to die for, great facilities (loved the telescope) and so close to such a beautiful town. Even saw a pod of whales one morning- amazing. We visit Cornwall every year and think we have found the ultimate house- see you next year!
