Description
Oozing taste, thoughtfulness, and acreage, this family-sized pad is brimful with luxurious touches. Rave about this Devon rural retreat for years to come with its sprawling garden and spacious interiors.
Rural hub
With room for all the family or that perfectly packaged group of friends, retreat to Rattery, or its village outskirts at least, and savor time with the best people in your life. Heron’s Haunt is majestically peaceful in its acre of gardens encased by mature trees and little more than countryside as far as the eye can see.
So considered was the creation of this property that much of the wood you’ll find about the place was salvaged during the restoration of Dartmouth Lower Ferry slipway. Stop and feel the banister as you climb the stairs. Gaze at the weathering in cupboard doors. Interwoven throughout are sumptuous furnishings - homely yet luxurious. From the double-width wine fridge to the far-reaching country views, you’ll be awash with happiness.
An L-shaped kitchen diner is the heart of the home and you can just imagine your troupe tumbling in from the stairwell or the living room. Hear the gaggle around the dining table as the day’s antics are recalled, glassed chinked and a sated hush descends.
The living room calls you to take in that view - the kind that floor to ceiling windows were designed for. When the TV doesn’t delight, perhaps a sing-song around the piano might - play us a tune… Up above, the master bedroom enjoys the views too and we doubt you’ll want to pull the blind, rather savor the stars.
There are nods to nature throughout, from the stain glass window to the artwork and the untrimmed framing of it too. A wander around your garden and the footpaths to the village and you’ll be sure to come across some of the local wildlife too.
About a mile from the centre of Rattery village, you really are in a peaceful spot. Wander in on a Tuesday for your pick of tasty basics from the village shop or any other time for a refreshing pub pint.
Bedrooms and bathrooms
There are four beautiful finished bedrooms. The master suite on the first floor enjoys glorious and wide views across neighbouring fields and valleys with the window making the most of the apex and full width of the room. Its king-size bed and en suite shower room complete the mastery. Another king-size bedroom and a twin room (that can be converted to a king) complete the first-floor accommodation where you’ll also find the family bathroom with separate shower and bath. The fourth bedroom (twin or king) is on the ground floor with its own en suite shower room.
