Description

Beautifully considered, exquisitely finished barn conversion celebrating the best of its original features as part of its ensconcement of guests in a sumptuous rural haven close to some of South Devon’s most sought after spots.

Divine Devon

Rolling amidst the countryside of a family-run working farm The Meadows is a simply stunning barn conversion. Dog-friendly Devon holidays just ramped up a notch. Seven of you and two canines can hunker down here and still, there’s room for more. Spacious social spaces cleverly entwine exposed stonework and contemporary lighting and heating features to create a sense of cosy. A hint of industrial in some of the furnishings leaves no doubts about the origins of this barn, inviting you to revel in its transformation.

Oak framed windows, floor to ceiling glass doors and large Velux set the tone for the light and bright kitchen diner. Shades of warm stone in the kitchen units and dining chairs play on the spray of exposed stonework on the back wall.

Step out into the fully enclosed garden to discover a charcoal barbecue and fire pit alongside some inviting deck chairs. Wander across the lawn to another vast barn to discover the entertainment - a games room calls with dartboard and table tennis. There’s also ample space for keeping paddleboards, bikes or even a small tender safe and dry.

The plump cushions and perfectly coordinated cushions of the sofas make for many a relaxing evening, whether you snuggle down for a movie or wheel over the coffee table for a hotly contested game of your choosing.

The bedrooms are spread across all three floors ensuring a sense of privacy for all. And each enjoys glorious views across the surrounding fields. The sniff of sea air is there - you’re so, so close to the coast.

West Alvington is a peaceful, rural village on the outskirts of bustling Kingsbridge. Artisan coffee and boutique clothes stores interweave with regular high street names and a fabulous fishmonger. Paddleboarding and yoga classes await as does the miniature train and ferry to Salcombe. The long stretching sands of South Milton and Thurlestone beckon or hit the surf round at Bantham and Bigbury.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

The master bedroom is simply sumptuous, from its second-floor views to its super king bed. The first floor offers a comfortable single while two en suite twin rooms await on the ground floor. A family bathroom is on the second floor.
