Tranquillity by the sea


Book yourself in for some rejuvenating Suffolk sea air. A place to spend long, lazy days on the beach or walking the clifftops. And then, when the sun finally begins to dip, gather up your picnic basket and stroll back to a house that’s swimming in elegance and set in unspoilt greenery.

The Old Mill is a lovingly-restored townhouse in one of the most desirable locations in the town. Inside, luxe living comes as standard, and there’s oodles of space to spread out and socialise.

Curl up in the colour pop lounge, where bright, modern sofas will envelop your very soul. Or perch in the drawing-room with a good book. The games room is sure to be a hit, with a PS4 for rainy mornings, and the conservatory is the place to lie back with a glass of red and gaze at the stars overhead.

The social kitchen is big enough to cook up a feast at the traditional Aga or pop on some music and mix up the cocktails if you’re celebrating.

Pick of the bedrooms is the master, where light, neutral tones create a soothing environment and serve to show off the vast greenery on view from the large bay window in all its glory. You should be able to spot the golf club in the distance, which offers complimentary membership to two guests at The Old Mill.

Bathrooms and bedrooms


There are five bedrooms and five bathrooms at The Old Mill. Two of the rooms have super-king beds and two have king-size. The fifth is a twin room. There are three en suites with showers, one of which also has a roll-top bath. There is also a shower room on the ground floor and a family bathroom with bath and shower.

We love this property for our extended family of 9 (4x households). The luxury of a bathroom/en-suite each and spaciousness of reception rooms is a great feature (especially as this year we didn’t use outside the back because of the changeable weather) meant sociable and quiet times are achievable for everyone. We managed to park our four cars as well, quite a feat in Southwold’s busy holiday streets.

Lovely property in a perfect location. As we were a large group the several en suites were much appreciated. Lovely peaceful walled garden. The downstairs bedroom could have benefitted from a wardrobe or hanging space. Although dog friendly, our pet was limited to two rooms only which was not ideal. Apart from that we had a wonderful week and hope to visit again. Thank you .

The Old Mill is in a wonderful position with lovely views to Walberswick, the town and the sea. The kitchen is excellent and the garden sheltered and attractive. The beds are very comfortable.
