Description
Suffolk countryside calls. The rover in you is ignited. Serenity abounds. Long before Instagram was created this wonderland captured the imaginations of generations past and now its yours to explore.
Peaceful pad
Relax. There’s little to distract you otherwise here. This former cart lodge is your home, for a while at least. Converted to a home away from home with added tranquility, the charm of the place and its serenity have been beautifully curated to ensure some switch off time. Upside down design puts your living space up top. The open plan living area makes the most of the pitched roof and the whitewashed walls encourage the light to bounce around the whole space. The calming accent blues tie everything together between the panelled wall behind the wood burner and the kitchen shelves. Imagine the chat over the kitchen counter as breakfast is prepared or the banter tumbling around the room after a day’s exploring - who built the best den, who walked the most steps…
Set in 15 acres of private woodland this is where the great outdoors makes a great excuse for a holiday. Observe your surroundings from any window or struggle to steal yourself away from the perfectly placed balcony in the first floor bedroom. You’d be forgiven for making your first venture to the nearby The Weeping Willow, not an ancient tree in this case but a beautifully refurbished pub a short walk away that serves delicious dishes. Yet this rural retreat is within a hop, skip and jump of all the trappings of a city break. Close enough to the cathedral city of Bury St Edmunds that you’ll want for nothing and have all your needs on tap, yet so idyllically situated that you could be forgiven for thinking you’re in the middle of nowhere.
Bedrooms and bathrooms
There could well be a scramble for the first floor bedroom with its balcony, views and perfectly placed chairs for moments of reflection and repose. The king size bed promises a night of deep sleep and the bathroom up here teases you with a deep bath surrounded by gorgeous tiles or the rain shower to wash away remaining stresses. Downstairs another king size bedroom awaits with its en suite shower room. Which will you choose?
