Description

Gather family or friends for a dog-friendly break in the Suffolk countryside. 10 guests and two dogs are invited to delight in this superbly finished conversion where relaxation and fun are a top priority.

Exquisite elegance

In this stunning Suffolk countryside where a pet-friendly holiday home for a large group awaits allow yourself to be blown away by what’s been created here. There aren’t many rural escapes quite like this where conservation of the past swims so elegantly alongside the contemporary.

Descend, 10 of you, for whatever reason - the house alone is enough of an excuse for us. Come to celebrate a long-awaited gathering, a special occasion, or simply to unwind together over hard-fought games of petanque and boules on the court provided. The pond-side setting is charming, the fenced area has been designed with your dogs in mind, you’ll find yourself amidst a wildlife haven, and you can store your bikes in the pole barn after exploring Cycle Route 31.

The barn has been transformed to provide fabulously flexible accommodation including three ground floor bedrooms. The main part of the space creates a superb social scene between lavish kitchen, spacious dining and calm sitting room that have been woven together partially beneath the barn’s full height and age-old woodwork, and with vast windows bringing the outside in. The design touches, structural and soft, are simply stunning.

Outside and in, making yourselves at home is easy. Walk, cycle, read, play, relax and repeat...

Alexandra Barn is a stunning example of a barn conversion and it enjoys all the benefits of its rural setting and mature gardens while actually being quite close to the coast - the best of both worlds. Need more space? Book it with The Granary.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

Three of the five bedrooms are on the ground floor including the master with its king-size bed and en suite shower room. A twin (or let us know if you’d like it set up as a king) and a bunk room are also here and share a shower room. Upstairs are two super-king bedrooms (4 & 5) both enjoying en suite facilities. Note: Bedrooms 4 and 5 are approached via staircases from the main barn that have no doors at the top or bottom of the staircase but are completely private.

Reviews

A beautiful barn, very spacious and refurbished to exceptional standard. My group and I had a wonderful stay, complemented by a beautiful sunset in the garden. Very clean and well equipped.

Ms P,

Excellent cottage and well equipped with very comfortable living room and seating in the dining/kitchen plus two wood burners. Used just once on a cold wet day over Easter school holidays but a lovely warm evening as a result. Plenty of outside seating as well, well kept with easy access to storage chest to replace cushions.

Previous Customer,

Lovely barn , beautiful surroundings fantastic location, and ideal for a family getaway.

Mrs M,

I hired Alexandra Barn as the venue for an annual family get-together so it was an important decision. The property delivered on every level and was enthusiastically embraced by everyone, including Margaux the Labrador. The location was quiet, private and perfect for our event and was made particularly joyful by the presence of the Boules Court. The owner was charming, friendly and always ready to provide guidance and assistance as and when required. I would have no hesitation in booking Alexandra Barn again or its sister property, the Granary, for a smaller event.

Mr B,

Alexandra Barn was a perfect place to celebrate a special birthday. It was an amazing space to spend time with friends - lots of common space for eating and chatting, quiet spaces to chill, five comfy bedrooms, and a really well equipped kitchen. The house manages to combine huge spaces, stunning design and a real feeling of cosiness.

Mr J,

Fabulous barn - lots of space and extremely well kitted out. Amazing beds and quality bed linen/towels. Ideal dog area in large utility room. Toasty log burners and fantastic kitchen. Lovely outdoor areas and lots of parking right outside front door. Cannot fault this place and would definitely recommend. Good value too.
