Warm brick façades draped with trailing vines greet you at the end of your own country lane. Step inside to your hideaway where it’s absolute peace and quiet for just the two of you.
The quiet country lane sets the scene for this romantic retreat at the heart of some very pretty English countryside. Admire the gently trailing vines on the vibrant brick façade, the flourish of flowers in the borders with their bench nook and the dreamy pond. Then step inside your Suffolk sanctuary.
Opening up before you is stylish elegance where just the two of you can relax in harmonious peace and quiet. The open plan living room comes surprisingly spacious and flooded with natural light. Inviting armchairs and sofas sit under stunning feature beams and before a striking geometric rug bring just the right splash of colour to the space. Come the evening you might fancy the warming crackle of the woodburning stove accompanied by perhaps just the twilight birdsong or a little romantic something on the iPad dock.
The harmonious living continues into the fully fitted kitchen in stylish black and muted grey where both of you will lap up the luxury of the Nespresso coffee machine and granite breakfast bar. Dine al fresco in the sun-drenched courtyard, accessible from both your living room and bedroom, which as you’d expect, is just as spacious and stylish as the rest of your romantic retreat.
Relax into well earned rest in king size comfort and awaken to nature, the only sound you’ll hear at your hideaway. And when you’re ready, venture further afield into the private garden – three acres of private nature reserve, pond and water meadows. Or take a few steps further into Ufford with its historic church and the River Deben. And then return to your very own haven of peace and quiet for just the two of you.
Bedrooms and bathrooms
The Stables sleeps 2 people in one spacious bedroom with king size bed and doors to the courtyard. The generously-sized bathroom comes fitted with a walk-in shower and there’s also a handy cloakroom.
This is an outstanding property. We could not fault it in any way.
It is perfect!
Excellent accommodation, really well designed everything you need is at hand
Fabulous property in beautiful surroundings. Our first visit to this area and thoroughly enjoyed it. Very warm welcome from the owners - would highly recommend.
We loved everything about the property
Lovely to be back again (Last visit in 2016). Peter and Jane congratulations your attention to detail is perfection. You have truly thought of everything, a masterclass in how a holiday cottage should run. We have had a lovely, relaxing and comfortable stay. We have revisited some of our favourite places and discovered new ones like the Red House in Aldeburgh and the River Blyth at Walberswick. The weather has been very mixed so it has limited what we did. We enjoyed seeing the bats at dusk, but havent seen the Barn Owl this time. We had two very good meals at the Coach & Horses in Melton and can recommend the Bell Inn, Walberswick for lunch as well as the Magpie Bakery in Aldeburgh for tea. We have had a lovely relaxing and comfortable stay in a wonderful cottage we will recommend to friends. We will be back.
We are so pleased that we decided to extend out stay by a further 2 nights. Such a beautiful place - we love Suffolk - the peace and tranquility here is beautiful. Thank you for your hospitality Jane & Peter. We have enjoyed every minute including some good meals out at The Unruly Pig, The Crown and The Markert in Aldeburgh. Loved the Red House and Snape Maltings. We very much hope to come back another time. A huge thank you!! Oh and love Willow she made us feel very at Home!
Had a lovely stay here at The Stables, very comfortable and beautiful place. The hosts Peter & Jae very friendly and accomodating. Lots to do in this area, you need a second visit. Lauren suggested fish n chips at Aldeburgh and also the village of Lavenham, both great, definitely recommend a visit. Thanks
A lovely stay at The Stables, coupled with sunny weather. Very comfortable place to stay, superbly appointed. Places to recommend visiting - Red House, Benjamin Britten's home, do not miss the talks given in the Archive room - absolutely fascinating, and The Unruly Pig lovely pub & food excellent.
Excellent cottage maintained to a very high standard. Clean, well equipped and comfortable in a quiet and relaxing location.
Our second visit and just as relaxing as the first. Lovely cottage and surroundings and perfect location for walking and cycling. Thanks for the welcome pack and all the little touches - they are very much appreciated.
Thanks for everything. We have had a great time. The White Lion was like going back in time - wonderful!
We would thoroughly recommend The Stables. Spacious, comfortable and bright and equipped to a high standard. We had a warm welcome from the owners. Location excellent for coast and countryside. We hope to return to enjoy some sunshine in the pretty courtyard garden.
Very relaxing break as The Stables - love it and the sunhouse was a lovely bonus. All over too soon but hope to be back. The Stables has been very well done and great equipment, thank you
Everything was perfect, Beautiful and luxurious. We will be back. Best wishes.
Our first visit to this area - have been both north and south before. Arrived to a warm welcome but suffering from heavy colds. Spent a lot of time at Landguard Fort Felixstowe viewpoint - fascinating watching the container handling. MInsmere worth a visit and shingle street quite different as was Orford. Cottage very comfy, warm and well equipped - the conversion has been really well done with best of fittings and equipment. Local pubs good, Coop in Woodbridge very handy with good parking. Hope to return again, beautiful property looking forward to coming back, lovely garden. Thank so much for everything - the welcoming cake, chocolates, prosecco & Flowers for Valentines Day.
