Description
Just the gentle fizz of the bubbles (around you and in your glass) in the air as you lie back in your hot tub. Absolute peace and quiet is yours. And every day at this ultimate rural retreat.
Cornish charm
Set in the heart of those lush rolling hills that Cornwall does so very well, this converted barn offers a treat of a holiday home. You’ll enjoy utter peace and quiet, disturbed just by the odd splash from the hot tub and the trill of birdsong as you relax in spacious comfort.
Enter your roomy kitchen-diner, open and airy with floods of natural light in the central barn space, defined by a feature staircase and wagon wheel light fixture. Wood cabinets add warmth to your preps, easy with all the right appliances provided. Take a moment to step outside onto your private garden space, complete with seating and umbrella – this is something of a sun trap. And your very own hot tub.
Follow the feature staircase upwards to the lovely living room with big picture windows onto the gallery and far-reaching views of that glorious countryside. There’s more than room enough for all 10 of you on the plump sofas as you sit back and contemplate the horizon. And yes, that glinting turquoise strip is the sea.
The two upstairs bedrooms also glimpse the ocean beyond while downstairs it’s more of those rustic views. You’ll be drawing lots for the king-size four-poster bed, but every one of the five bedrooms offers sumptuous comfort.
Venture further outside and you’re just a short walk away from Tehidy Woods. Time your visit for the spring and carpets of bluebells are yours to behold. Follow the mineral trail for just 20 minutes to reach the lovely sands at Portreath, the Cornish coast at perhaps its very best. Feeling a little more energetic? Hire some wheels and head for Devoran along the cycle trail before it’s back to your rural retreat and (another) well-earned spell in that hot tub.
Bedrooms and bathrooms
Five spacious bedrooms, including two twins, sleep 10 in accommodation easily adaptable to families or groups. There are two family bathrooms plus two en suites.
