Revel in the grandeur. Take yourself back in time to when this country pile was likely to be a holiday retreat for a noble family. Slow the pace. Let this beautiful home lift your spirits. Drop your shoulders. And smile.
You’ll be spoilt for choice in this marvellous grand scale apartment. The scene is set for a family gathering or special occasion. You can’t fail to enjoy life here in this late Victorian mansion. Before you’ve even opened the front door you’ll notice the perfectly manicured lawns and flowerbeds, the miniature lamp posts and rockery. This is a playful place.
Inside, you’ll discover that the whole retreat has been recently completely renovated to a high standard, retaining the original features which make this a standout property. Vintage fireplaces, ornate ceilings and large rooms lend this place a sense of scale you rarely find in an apartment.
Your kitchen is perfectly laid out and well-equipped with everything you’ll need to cater for large parties. The homely breakfast area is likely to be where you’ll find everyone lingering with their morning coffee. Usher them outside to your own private garden if you’re looking for a little peace.
The feature room is of course the huge games room, with its full-size snooker table, speciality lighting and massive fireplace. You’ll be sure to while away your evenings here in friendly (or fierce!) competition.
Scalby is just a few miles north of Scarborough - close enough to partake it all its delights, and far away enough to find real peace. The village itself is as steeped in history as a traditional cup of Yorkshire tea. One of the oldest churches in the region has stood here since 1150. The beautiful Scalby Beck separates Scalby from Scarborough on its journey out to the North Sea. A short stroll will take you to two traditional pubs and two restaurants.
Bedrooms and bathrooms
No need to fight over the bedrooms - they are all spacious and supremely comfortable with cots and a variety of sleeping arrangements to suit. The bathrooms are luxurious - think faux fur rugs, roll-top baths and stone tiles. Perfection.

Our stay, despite terrible weather was enjoyable because of the space we had in the accommodation. All rooms were of a very good size with plenty of seating areas throughout. We would certainly stay here again. The property was in a lovely quiet location and was walking distance to pubs, bus stops and riverside pathMr French - 21st June 2019
A thoroughly enjoyable cottage which had the wow factor. So well equipped, we wanted for nothing. Difficult to get all 8 of us together often but would return without hesitation. We loved it.Mr ARTHUR MELLOR - 8th June 2019

Comfortable, spacious and well equipped house for 3 generations of our family. The pool table was a real bonus for the adults. Friendly owners on hand (next door) if you need any help. Super, peaceful location, just a short walk to a village pub with good food. Within driving distance of a great many attractions for all the family.Mrs Maria Hiles - 10th April 2018

We all loved the house and of course the billiards room prevented the males from wandering around aimlessly. Nobody wanted to leave. The property was not cheap but we agreed this was the best of many we have rented as a family. They even bought me a present for finding it!Mrs Valerie Bynner - 11th April 2016
