Description

Turn down the pathway and there it is: your secluded retreat. Your secret hideaway, perfect to get away from everything except romance. Absolute peace and quiet and a world of private spaces. Just for two.

Romantic retreat

Stroll down the garden path, past the pond with that inviting hammock, across the lawns complete with deckchairs for two and you know you’re on your way to something special. And there it is – your very own private spot, a haven of peace and quiet for just the two of you.

Inside the tasteful barn conversion, it’s all about space and light. Pale oak floors spread out to pure white walls and huge picture windows looking onto the lawns and woodlands beyond. Serene seascapes by a local artist dot the walls adding to the sense of peace and tranquillity.

This is a hideaway where you’ll find you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to sitting back to relax. Snuggle up on the deep leather sofa in front of a cosy woodfire. Sink back in the deckchairs – in the sun or the shade, you choose. Or gently recline on the hammock under the trees next to the dreamy pond. Birdsong and the rustling of leaves are all you’ll hear.

Dine in the intimate corner within the open-plan living space or outside on the patio as you soak up the absolute peace and quiet. And come night time, relax still further. First in the charming pedestal bath and then in the impossibly comfy super king-size bed.

And you won’t see a soul unless you venture beyond the lawns and pond where you’ll discover the treats of medieval Sandwich and the seaside town of Deal. And when that gentle hustle and bustle tires you can return to your very own secret hideaway away from everything except romance.  With just the two of you.

Bedroom and bathroom

The Hideaway has one bedroom with super king-size bed, views to the garden and a feature wall. The en suite bathroom with Amtico flooring includes a pedestal bath and separate walk-in shower.

Reviews

We had a lovely week at the Hideaway. It was very comfortable and well equipped with a fantastic welcome pack. We loved the bed and the log burner especially. Fantastic location for exploring - there is so much to see in this area within easy reach.

Mrs I,

This is a wonderful place to spend some time exploring eastern Kent and places beyond. Very well equipped, well located and the owners are extremely helpful. Altogether a lovely week

Mrs B,

Wonderful accommodation, great location. Superb welcome pack, excellent hosts.

Mr B,

A stylish, warm and comfortable cottage for 2 people, in a good location. We appreciated the log burner over New Year, with high winds and biting cold days! The welcome pack was a nice touch, and the bed was very comfortable.

Ms T,

Very comfortable and clean. Very thoughtfully furnished and equipped.

Mr E,

Lovely, quiet and secluded cottage. Well finished and maintained, with a homely comfortable feel. We instantly felt relaxed and the welcome pack was appreciated. The owners were very welcoming. We really enjoyed our break

Mr S,

A lovely quiet and relaxing place to stay.

Mrs R,

A really well designed and equipped accommodation, that provided everything we needed. Set in a quiet leafy location with parking immediately outside. There are many interesting local places to visit with Canterbury city a short drive and Sandwich a real gem of a medieval small town within walking distance, Walmer and Deal Castles and towns and the roman fort at Richborough close by.

Ms T,

Lovely property with welcome pack and every necessary items. Peaceful and comfortable.

Mr M,

Wonderful accommodation, spacious and very comfortable for 2, well equipped, great location, very peaceful, would highly recommend

Mrs K,

We had a lovely stay at The Hideaway and Debbie and Mark were great hosts that were available if you need help and they were just a short distance away from the property. We were grateful for the welcome box of goodies, Christmas decorations and a compliment basket of wood and kindle for the wood burner. The owners also supplied additional wood bundles for £5.00 a basket which is a lot cheaper than buying it locally at the supermarket and much more convenient. The property is so comfortable and cosy especially over the cold windy weather we had over Christmas and we both felt right at home. The kitchen was well equipped for us to cook a full Christmas meal and other dishes for the reminder of our stay. The roll top bath is a nice touch of luxury as well as the rain shower head also the quality towels, bedding and additional nice touches of hand and bath/shower gel. The back of the building you find the enclosed of garden area which garden table and chairs which was peaceful. It's in a great location to see the Kent countryside and coastal areas too. We would highly recommend staying here and would consider going back in the future.

Mr V,

The Hideaway is a lovely place to stay. Immaculately clean, very warm and comfortable, it has been converted and decorated to a very professional standard. We literally wanted for nothing, as the owners had clearly put a lot of thought into what guests might need, and were generous with their welcome pack and firewood provision. The property handbook is clear and detailed. The location of the house is ideal - despite being ‘tucked away’ and very peaceful, it is close to the road network, giving easy access to the coastal towns and to Canterbury. Canterbury is less than 30 minutes away by car and is a lovely city to explore with ancient cobbled streets, a riverside walk and the magnificent cathedral. We also enjoyed Ramsgate, visiting Ramsgate caves and enjoying walks along the cliffs and around the harbour. Sandwich is quiet and very pretty, with a choice of good places to eat. For walks and wildlife visit the beautiful Sandwich and Pegwell bay.
