In the heart of the Weald of Kent, Iden Green Farm Stables is a haven of tranquility waiting to lift the world from your shoulders. This superb stable conversion promises halcyon days in bucolic countryside.
Peace and serenity
Step inside to feel the warmth and history of the place that in the winter months is enhanced by the luxury of underfloor heating and a wood burning stove. Time out in the countryside, appreciating its hush and its lushness is particularly appealing from the garden where the views across the Weald abound. Afternoon tea around the handcrafted garden furniture could become a habit.
Inside, the former life and the age of the building are apparent in the beautifully exposed beamwork and the lower than usual doorways on the first floor. The farmhouse style kitchen has a beautifully handcrafted worktop. Extending into the dining area, the terracotta tile floor is cool in the heat of summer and heated for you in chillier months. Breakfast or supper around the large farmhouse dining table can flow out through the double doors on the terrace where children can play safely in the garden.
Beyond the house, the High Weald AONB is yours to explore. Bring your National Trust membership cards to discover Sissinghurst Castle and Scotney Castle, both of which are just a short drive from the Stables. History buffs will love a day trip to Hastings and to Rye where cobbled streets and the legacy of battles long ago fought contribute to pretty coastal towns to occupy visitors new and returning. To appease those in need of sea air and sandcastles the long-stretching golden sands of Camber are a beautiful sight over the dunes after a pretty meander via the marshland.
Bedrooms and bathrooms
Three double bedrooms call you to sleep of an evening in the eaves of this beautiful building. The Red Room and Blue Room are both spacious rooms with views in two directions. The ornate metalwork bed of the Green Room draws you into this cosy double for a heavenly night’s sleep with little more than the dawn chorus to rouse you.

Extremely quiet and peaceful, ideal location for re-energizing, inspiring surroundings, extremely hospitable landlady and landlord, Mr Christoph Pocha - 15th August 2019
Benenden is a charming village with it’s own very good shop and cafe. Tenterden has a steam railway which travels to Bodiam Castle. Excellent! There is so much to see in the area that a week is not long enough.Mrs S M Smith - 27th June 2019
Wonderful cottage in beautiful rural location. Well equipped and comfortable. Very cosy. The owners were welcoming and helpful, providing a lovely Christmas tree and amazing welcome package including home made jams, eggs, cake and a bottle of bubbly. There's a lot to do nearby. Definitely recommend this lovely cottage. Dr Annabelle Fenwick - 3rd January 2019

The cottage was excellent, all items and furnishings were of very good quality. We received a welcome pack consisting of fresh bread, cake, butter, homemade jam, eggs and tea.Mrs M C Burmingham - 20th September 2015
We would thoroughly recommend this property. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The welcome pack was the best we have seen. The location was beautiful- views of countryside/garden from most windows, including the owners' lovely oasthouse. The interior of this converted stable is tastefully done, and the log burner added to the relaxing atmosphere. Beds were comfortable, and there were lots of thoughtful additions- dressing gowns and hairdryer meant less to pack. The only thing to consider is that the stairs may be a bit steep for elderly or infirm.Mrs J Smith - 15th September 2015
Not much else to say other than 10/10 Lovely property - better than photos in the brochure and lovely owners. Superb holiday - THANK YOU!!!!Mr Steve Sharpe - 5th July 2015
