Description

One of the most desirable spots on the North Norfolk coast meets unbridled luxury. Let your imagination soar and feel yourself be inspired in a house that celebrates everything that makes this corner of the country so very special.

For lives well lived

Life is too short to settle. So, if Norfolk’s endless skies and breathtaking vistas have tempted you, don’t be tempted by half measures. Choose a cottage that drops you in the middle of those skies and brings the county’s soft, dappled light into the indoors.

For centuries, artists and writers have come to this area to be inspired. Whether for the thousands of rare birds that flock to these shores, the stark beauty of the marshes or that fabled light, the creative spirit is alive and well in North Norfolk. In this home, eclectic artworks, sculpture and installations are a perfect accompaniment to the natural landscape. You’ll float from the spectacular saltmarsh and sea views, to the bold colours of the furniture around you. With skylights and French doors, you’ll glide between open plan living spaces that never entirely feel indoors or out, but a celebration of everything that both have to offer – cosy yet expansive, warm yet fresh.

The mature gardens, meanwhile, are somewhere to watch songbirds flutter overhead and listen to the gentle sounds of nature – an unfamiliar birdcall or the soft splash of deer running through the shallows. Venture out along the coast path from your front door to the golden sands of the beach that lies beyond the marshes, or the jetty from which a ferry will carry you towards the colony of seals that come ashore to have their pups each winter.

There’s so much to discover here. A games room with table tennis and mini pool. A gorgeous pantry and practical utility space. Sumptuous beds and relaxing baths.

Time spent in this stunning home, is time well spent indeed.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

There are four bedrooms and four bathrooms at Vine Cottage. The first bedroom has a super-king bed and en suite bathroom, while the second bedroom has a double bed. The third and fourth bedrooms both have super-king beds, which can also be made up as twin singles, and en suites, one with a shower and the other a bath and shower. There is also a family shower room.

Reviews

This is an absolutely beautiful house in a prime location, a short walk (either by road or by coastal path) to Blakeney. The gardens are stunning too. We had a fabulous family time with space for everyone to spread out. The views from the sea-facing rooms are magical. Highly recommended.

Mrs S,

Amazing house in a great location - good for 'doing nothing' in front of the open fire or long walks straight from the back door.

Mr B,

The house is large and has absolutely everything you need. Both gardens are beautiful and the views are out of this world! The welcome hamper was such a nice touch. Everyone had a great time.

Mr M,

Beautiful large property with very comfortable beds and a lovely kitchen complete with aga. Perfect position for local attractions and the enclosed garden was a bonus for our dogs with great access to the coastal path.

Mrs P,

The stand-out thing about the property is its position on the edge of Blakeney and close to the coastal path - so that you can walk into the village without going near the main road. It also has good views.

Mr H,

clean: when we arrive we had to clean the mirrors behind the stove and bathrooms. Also the kitchen work top was not clean

Mr Joost F,

We were only given one bin bag to last 7 days for 8 people so we had to buy more. There were no washing machine tablets/powder so we had to buy those as well. Only one loo roll given to each bathroom again had to buy more, for the price you pay for the property you expect these things to be given and not to have to buy them. If we’d know you get so little we would of brought these things with us. There were no basics like salt and pepper. The cleanliness was disappointing, cobwebs and dust everywhere. The cobwebs were very lowdown you couldn’t miss them. In the corner of the kitchen and under the radiator in the snug. The bedside tables and the sinks in the bathroom were covered in dust and had bits of dirt covering them. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned at all properly. Their were finger print all over the loo roll holder and the flush. When using the pop up waste in the bathroom sink black stuff came up and into the sink. One of the toilets had urine stains on the seat that looked like it’d been there for a while. The cutlery drawer was filthy as was some of the cutlery, cups and plates. The blue couch was covered in pet hair when we arrived. It was very disappointing to see as we ended up cleaning the bathrooms ourselves as it just wasn’t clean. The dryer door is broken so it was a struggle putting things in and out of it. For the price you pay you do expect it to be much cleaner than it was on our arrival. But it was a lovely house and beautifully decorated, we were all a massive fan of the modern interior. The views were breathtaking, fabulous location. It was just a shame the cleanliness let it down.
