Description
Nestled in the countryside between the town of Holt and the village of Cley in the Norfolk Coastal Area of Outstanding Beauty, Taylors Barn makes stunning use of its space. Sharing the same grounds as its sister property, Bixes Barn, this luxury self-catering barn conversion is a chance for some stylish privacy while on holiday with a larger group.
Grand spaces and style
It would have been easy to decorate Taylors Barn to look the same as its sister property, but the owners quickly shrugged off that one-size-fits-all approach. Without completely rejecting its connection to Bixes Barn, Taylors Barn matches the grandeur of its open-plan spaciousness with a bolder use of darker colours and trendy fixtures, featuring vaulted ceilings and exposed, white-varnished beams, chestnut brown panelling in the kitchen area, and elegant cowhide chairs, in a subtle nod to its legacy and setting. This takes rustic-chic to a whole new level.
For a nice day out, Holt is just to the south, with its art and antique galleries and wonderful fashion boutiques, while the Cley marshes are a short drive north, as are the beaches in Cromer, and the steam train Poppy Line in Sheringham. Coming home to Taylors Barn is sure to be a pleasure. The children, young and old, have access to a separate, communal games barn as well as a communal woodland play area. In the meantime, the grown-ups can pull a bottle from the wine fridge and relax while preparing a nice little something to eat. Enjoy that al fresco on the patio, or within the luxurious comfort of the Barn.
Bedrooms and bathrooms
Taking full advantage of its broad layout, the bedrooms in Taylors Barn are located in the perpendicular wing, past the dining room area. The king-size master suite benefits from an en-suite shower room with WC and boasts more contrasting dark with a superb, mahogany four-poster bed. There is then a twin room and a single room, both of which share the convenience of a family bathroom with WC and shower cubicle. In order to accommodate more guests, the single room has a pull-out trundle bed with legs.
Practicalities
We welcome one large or two small dogs. A starter pack of fuel for the wood burner is provided. We can include a travel cot and high chair if required. If you have young children in your group they should be supervised whilst playing in the woodland play area and on the play equipment.
