Description

Imagine a destination with literally everything a holiday should be: relaxation, comfort, luxury touches, stylish décor, curios and all the space and privacy you could possibly dream of. Welcome to The Granary, the ultimate group retreat.

Norfolk luxury

From a distance you can see this Norfolk barn is something very special but nothing quite prepares you for the absolute delight of every single space. And that’s inside and out. Traditional lofty ceilings, complete with beams; flagstone floors in true country style; sumptuous living; little nooks; and lots (and lots) of luxury touches.

Long sofas stretch out invitingly in the spacious living room where one entire wall provides views of your private estate. Step through into the exquisite Garden Room where sapphire cushions twinkle at you before you walk into the patio garden. Box hedges scent the pure country air, a fountain babbles away and yes, those are olive trees set along the wall.

Long trestle tables provide more than enough of room for everyone to sit down to dine in the Norfolk sunshine. Will it be a little something grilled on the barbeque? A pizza fired in your own charcoal oven? Something prepared by the caterers in the rustic kitchen where an Aga sits gloriously in the feature brick fireplace? Or just a freshly ground Gaggia coffee?

And then the toughest decision of all: who sleeps where. Each of the seven bedrooms comes exquisitely decorated and with the ultimately inviting names: Gothic Arches, Gold Boudoir, China Blue… Sleigh beds, four posters, a Juliet balcony and oh-so elegant en suites await all 14 of you.

Outside yours are the tennis courts, the pond with decking, the 33-acres of Norfolk countryside under those famous infinity skies and for the ultimate relaxation, a hot tub al fresco. If you do leave, local delights include the vibrant city of Norwich and the iconic Norfolk Broads. But that’s a big if because after all, you’re staying at The Granary.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

Five of the seven bedrooms are on the ground floor with one en suite shower room and a family bathroom. Upstairs are two more bedrooms with one en suite shower room and one en suite bathroom. All have smart TVs.

One well-behaved dog is welcome. Stag and hen parties are not permitted at this property.  No parties, events or visits from outside agencies without the owner's prior permission.

Reviews

This is a well equipped, characterful property, perfect for large gatherings of family/friends. We were a multigenerational family and found the property layout worked well for us along with the amazing grounds. The owner was responsive to communication from us which we appreciated and the information provided in the property for guests was considered and useful. I’m sure future guests will love it.

Mrs W,

We booked this property for my dads 60th birthday and it did not disappoint. The location is perfect for a family getaway, the house itself caters above and beyond there were 12 in total including 3 children and we had plenty of space to entertain as well as room to chill out when needed, the tennis court, outdoor space and hot tub kept everyone busy throughout our stay, overall I would highly recommend.

Mrs E,

The Granary exceeded our expectations above and beyond. As a family who has experienced a lot of loss recently, we were desperate to all get together and celebrate something. For my dad's 60th, we all stayed here for a long weekend and it could not have been better. The owner of the property had thought of everything, providing cake and prosecco for our celebrations, as well as their housekeeping team creating a warm, welcoming and exceptionally clean home that we are very grateful for in current times. If you are looking for a place to stay to relax altogether, then this property is perfect for that - as well as being celebration-friendly, with lots of space for communal fun and of course the hot tub! We were so lucky with the weather, but the property is equipped for both ends of the spectrum, and we cannot wait to return. The Granary will become an annual tradition for us now, for sure. Thank you so much to the owner and also to Norfolk Cottages for bringing this property into our family's lives!

Miss B,

A beautiful house with amazing surroundings, house was beautifully decorated and beds were so comfortable. Hottub was a hit every night and gorgeous walks of the countryside. Would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of going here x

Miss W,

Brilliant house. Very well set up. Hot tub and tennis court welcome addition. Nice and Peaceful, would love to go back.

Mrs A,

The property was stunning and had been fantastically renovated, decorated and furnished.

Mr C,

We celebrated a 30th birthday party here. The place is amazing. Whilst it is very big, it still felt very homely. The grounds are very well maintained as well. Pond looks great, which compared to some other cottages we have stayed at, cannot be taken for granted. the private courtyard to sit in is also very cool. highly recommend.
