Feel the tingle of history. Admire objects d’art from around the world. Hear owls hoot and the low buzz of dragonflies across the pond. This is pure style, pure luxury. And it’s all for you.
It’s not possible to replicate this unique, personal, freshly converted Grade II listed property, set as it is among ruins, yet decorated with a classic modern eye. You’ll arrive in the most tranquil of spots, in the grounds of Plas Gelliwig in Botwnnog. Before you’ve even ventured inside you’ll have fallen in love with the garden, with its large circular pond with a huge pillar - possibly an old dovecote - right at its centre. A fountain and ancient stone structures are curiosities to ponder.Enjoy the seating area around the fire pit for those cooler evenings.
Through a stone archway you go, into the cottage and through to the large open plan living room. Light and bright and fresh. You’ll see the fabulous feature glass external wall, and original huge stone internal wall which cleverly separates the kitchen and sitting areas, but with cutaways to ensure a feeling of connectedness.
You’ll subliminally be aware of the careful palette of greys, yellows and blues as it filters through the house, with occasional pops of colour lifting and unifying the theme. You’ll admire the choice of modern wallpapers which give personality to each room, and the artefacts from around the world which make this luxury retreat feel seriously special. A striking woodburner is set for a cosy evening in, with your first batch of logs supplied and ready.
When you’re ready to explore further afield, The Coach House close to some of the best beaches on the Llyn Peninsula, including surf central Porth Neigwl (Hells Mouth), Porth Coleman and Abersoch. The National Trust's Plas yn Rhiw is just four miles away. Choose your adventures for the day ahead - Caernarfon for the castle, Snowdonia National Park or to Porthmadog for the Welsh Highland steam railway and Portmeirion Italianate village.
Bedrooms and bathrooms
Up the architectural, open tread stairs you’ll find three thoughtfully decorated bedrooms, the twin with antique French beds, and double with a glass door out to stone step, and a luxurious master en suite. The shower room is home to an original stone fireplace.
Lovely place! Kids loved doing Marshmallows on the firepit. Very relaxing. Thanks
We absolutely loved the property. It had so many intricate features and such amazing interior design. The garden was also a lovely space for our dog to roam around. The fire pit provided an evenings entertainment, my son making s’mores for us all. I would absolutely return
What a lovely place we have really enjoyed our time at The Coach House. One of the best cottages we have stayed at. Everything we could need. Beautiful gardens, well equipped, great location. We recommend the Ty Coch pub. Dina's Dinlle is great with a beautiful beach. We hope to return
The coach house is stunning, the beaches are beautiful. We had no complaints at all.
Thank you for letting us stay in this beautiful home. We really appreciated the styling and how well-maintained it is. It's a gorgeous property and perfect for exploring the area.
What a beautiful house and a lovely tranquil setting. We have had a wonderful holiday here. The children have loved playing in the garden and toasting marshmallows around the firepit. A great base to explore this stunning area. We really appreciate the quality and style of all the furnishings and the attention to detail. Somewhere we will return to again!
Thank you for letting us stay in this lovely property. The style and commitment of the owners is evident in the finish of the house. Weather was lovely. Such a tranquil setting meant a much needed relaxation to recharge ones batteries was superb. Thanks again
Loved this property, very nice decor with lovely garden and facilities. The property is a little remote with no local shops etc. close by but the garden & tranquil surroundings made up for it. Fabulous stay near Abersoch, only 15 mins drive to the beaches and Llyn Peninsula sites. Our holiday home was lovely and in such a tranquil location would definitely visit again.
