Description

The original New England holiday home in stunning South Devon. Interiors to die for. A snap-happy Pinterest haven for design and home fans who happen to love luxury holidays too.

Nautical elegance

Timeless. Stylish. Original. Hawks Cay set the scene for New England style interiors and retains its smart yet light hearted vibes that create a perfect setting for a happy go lucky family holiday by the sea. Nautical touches wherever your eyes fall bring a seaside flair to this thoroughly thought out holiday home. The ultimate in guest comfort awaits inside the door of this period cottage.

The large sunny kitchen diner with its muted greys and rounded edges has everything you need for cunduring up an American style breakfast, or any other style feast to be honest - the De Longhi Dolce-Gusto coffee machine and American fridge freezer with ice dispenser are firm favourites. Follow the light to the French doors and discover how they open out onto a private courtyard, providing both suntrap and shade depending on the time day you seeks its tranquility. The large dining table surrounded by cane dining chairs promises to keep everyone at the table long after dinner is done. The sitting room is all light and comfy seating whether you’re hunkered around a roaring woodburner or settling in for a movie night on the vast TV screen.

From the shutters to the stars and stripes, the Shaldon seafront could just as easily be the Atlantic coast if you chose to stay indoors. But the pretty beach huts famous on Shaldon’s seashore will draw you to the sand. The village’s boutiques, restaurants and cafes will stock you with goodies for supper or fill you up enough for more exploring. The Shaldon Cliffs, Zoo and Teignmouth Circular will keep you out and about all day.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

The first floor presents three bedrooms and a large family bathroom that continue the New England theme and the luxurious comforts. A king, a double and a twin trundle bed all offer superior mattresses, pillows and linen for the ultimate night’s sleep. Up on the second floor is the stunning master suite with its striking king size nickel bed and en suite with standalone tub. Hairdryers and TV/DVD players come as standard in all rooms.

Security deposit: This property has a refundable Accidental Damage Deposit of £350, which is payable to Niche Retreats with the final balance of your holiday, eight weeks prior to your arrival, and is refunded within 5 working days of your departure.

Reviews

A really lovely property with all modern fixtures & fittings. We were made very welcome by James who gave us excellent local information. The bath in the en-suite is stunning but for us a walk in shower would have been a better option - a very minor observation! Thank you for a fab stay! All great!

Mr Mark G,

We all loved our stay at hawks cay, and james couldn’t have been more helpful,on meeting him to show us round the house , we would like to book again for next year

Mrs Linda T,

We would recommend this property without hesitation. The position, in this very unspoilt quiet gem on the river, was delightful and local attractions were easily reached. There were numerous restaurants, some being only minutes away, all serving excellent food.

Mrs Jill B,

I have really enjoyed staying here with the beach and bar. I loved it! The house was lovely the bed was soft. :)
