Description
Let the family’s competitive spirit entertain you. Light the romantic chiminea on your private patio and linger outside a little longer on cooler evenings. Gaze at the stars. Breathe the freshest country air. Be at one with nature.
Garden games
You’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to outdoor activities here. This cottage is part of Billeaford Barn and shares a large communal open space with superb countryside views. This wide, flat space is just made for playtime. Tennis, croquet, football, cricket… they’re all there for your entertainment and a spot of competitive spirit.
Inside, you’ll notice how thoughtfully the space has been laid out. The clean country farmhouse vibe is apparent in the well equipped and generous kitchen, and dining area. Why not light the candles, lower the table lights and settle in for a relaxed family evening meal. The feeling of space continues in the open plan sitting room, with comfortable sofas for everyone and a stonking wood burning stove just made for snuggling up in front of. Logs are provided to start you off.
You’ll probably light the chiminea on your private patio area when you need some quiet time in the evenings and want to extend your days here as long as possible. On the coolest of nights you can thrown on the blankets provided in front of this lovely burner and simply gaze at the dark skies testing your constellation knowledge.
You will have coast and country within easy reach. The stunning wide shingle beaches of Thorpeness are just two and a half miles away, and the foodie, music and drama pull of Aldeburgh is just three miles away. Cross pretty gorse commons to find live music and great food at the Butcher’s Arms pub in Knodishall village.
West Barn Cottage can be booked along with East Barn Cottage to take parties of up to twelve guests.
Bedrooms and bathrooms
Sink into the opulent king size bed on the ground floor and enjoy the privacy of your own shower room. Upstairs there are two equally beautifully decorated first floor bedrooms to rest in, and a smart family bathroom.
