Treetop Lavenham

As you meander down the leafy avenue on this quintessential Suffolk estate, you already know you’re on your way to what was once the farmhouse. Trees stretch beyond and up above you, and there’s the water feature beckoning. Then your holiday home itself appears, a marvel of modern architecture, nestling in the treetops and with striking circular windows wrapping around the lower and upper floors. Wow. Just wow.

Space and light envelop you as you step inside to a world where leafy vistas greet you at every turn. Glide upstairs to the open plan living space, luminous and plenty big enough for all 12 of you. Plush furnishings placed just so bring a sense of sumptuous comfort. And you’ll love the splashes of plum, moss green and soft blue. Woodburning stoves invite you to cosy up beside them while the long dining table makes the perfect spot for family banquets with easily enough room for you all.

Flow-through into your uber-modern kitchen. An array of pendant lights add glow to this space, luminous like everywhere else and with those leafy views. There are two of everything in here – dishwashers, hobs, ovens and yes, even the drinks fridges come in pairs. Step outside, almost above the trees onto your terrace. Plush cushions here too offer frontline seats of the views and for the culinary creators, a pizza oven and barbecue are on hand.
Back on the ground level, the kids will love the climbing frame and trampoline set in a woodland glen.

Slightly further afield is a long list of great walks, taking in the best of this truly English countryside. On your doorstep, medieval Lavenham with its half-timbered houses takes you far back in time. Excellent pubs await you too before you all return to your treetop retreat in oodles of light and space.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

The six generously sized bedrooms are on the ground floor; all have en suites. Two have direct access to the garden while the super king has floor to ceiling bi-fold doors onto the terrace.
